BCS Rankings: Predicting the Top 25 After Boise State, Stanford Losses
Once again, the impossible seems to have occurred in college football. Of the Top Five teams, two lost in painful outings—killing national title hopes for those top-tier squads.
College football has finally arrived at the point where even the smallest, and seemingly weakest, of teams can scare some of the most storied and powerful programs in the country. We have hit a crossroads where being unranked doesn't mean you can't beat a Top Ten team.
Any given Saturday—am I right?
After Boise State and Stanford lost yesterday in two thrilling games, the ranks of the undefeated dwindled once again. Now only two BCS squads that automatically qualified—Oklahoma State and LSU—are graced with no losses on the year.
Yet.
The Top Ten isn't the only part of the polls that will be affected. Many ranked teams fell to lower-ranked or unranked squads yesterday. It should be a huge day for the BCS polls when they come out later: They are controlling the fate of multiple teams.
Since tonight is so far away, I'm going to take a shot at the new BCS Top 25 for Week 12.
