Ohio State Football Recruiting 2012: Buckeyes Recruiting Update
Just thought I'd check in on the Buckeyes and give you guys some recruiting tidbits on how their cycle is going.
Their 2012 recruiting class efforts also have not gone as well as could be, thanks to looming sanctions hovering over their heads. Recruits just haven't seemed as interested in playing in Columbus this cycle.
However, this is still The Ohio State Buckeyes we're talking about, folks.
Key Commitment: Warren Ball, RB
1 of 4The 6'2", 200-pound Ball is a RB whom I really like. I love Ball's skill set, and feel that he could develop into a complete back.
Ball has hands like a WR and displays natural receiving and ball skills. He also flashes solid bursts to and through holes, and runs lean.
Look for Ball to be a prime player in Columbus pretty soon.
Washington and Stanford Are 98% Sure They're a Package Deal
2 of 4Dwayne Stanford and Adolphus Washington are likely the top two uncommitted prospects in Ohio. In fact, Washington is viewed as the top prospect, bar none, in the Buckeye State.
They were scheduled to announce their decisions together this week, but it has been postponed since Stanford will to Oregon on November 19th.
Washington has Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State and Cincinnati as his top four. Stanford likes Cincinnati, Ohio State and Oregon.
The Buckeyes could get a two-for-one commitment this month.
Dunn Still Committed, But...
3 of 4Brionte Dunn, a 6'1", 215-pound bell cow back, is one of the top RB prospects in the country. He's been pledged to Ohio State for quite sometime, but is looking elsewhere.
Michigan, Penn State and Miami will get visits, and Dunn will officially trip to Ohio State after his season.
Luke Fickell and his staff are going to have to work hard on Dunn to keep him committed and get him to sign with the Buckeyes
Chances Hurt by Garmon's Preference?
4 of 4Greg Garmon is a long and lean 6'2", 200-pound RB prospect who visited Ohio State earlier in October. Garmon liked his trip, but one thing is hurting the Buckeyes' chances for him.
Their position preference.
Ohio State wants Garmon to play safety. He wants to play RB, and says that the Buckeyes are the only school recruiting him as a safety.
This has hurt OSU's chances, and things don't look promising right now for landing Garmon in Columbus.
