BCS Rankings: Georgia Tech and Teams That Don't Deserve to Be Ranked
This week may have been the craziest thus far in the 2011 college football season. This week saw many ranked teams fall victim to losses.
As teams scramble at the top of the rankings, there is just as much scrambling occurring at the bottom half of the BCS rankings.
Here are three teams that don't deserve to be ranked in the Top 25.
No. 24 West Virginia Mountaineers
The Mountaineers have now dropped their third game of the season.
Louisville took out West Virginia by a final score of 38-35 on Saturday.
West Virginia is now 6-3 on the season. They have played only one ranked opponent, and that was the LSU Tigers. They were crushed in the matchup.
There are teams that have proved much more this season sitting on the outside of the rankings. It's time to jump off this bandwagon.
No. 15 Michigan Wolverines
Michigan may be sitting at a 7-2 record, but take a closer look at what they have accomplished this year.
They have lost to Michigan State and then again this weekend to Iowa.
They have beaten Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, San Diego State, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Northwestern and Purdue.
They have done nothing against anyone worth mentioning. Who's the best team on that list? Notre Dame or Northwestern is the likely answer.
The Wolverines could be the most overrated team in the country.
No. 23 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech may have pulled off a crazy upset against the Clemson Tigers, but is that really enough to warrant a spot in the Top 25?
We are talking about a team that lost to Miami and Virginia in back-to-back weeks before pulling off the upset.
I suppose if you really feel that Clemson is a top tier team, it could be enough to push the Yellow Jackets into the Top 25.
