College Football Week 10: Sickest Highlights from Saturday's Games
Week 10 is the biggest week yet in the college football season. Needless to say, the early games yielded some amazing plays—most of them counted, but one in particular should have, but didn't.
While we all sit and wait for the big No. 1 vs No. 2 matchup with LSU and Alabama, the other teams in action aren't disappointing, coming through with some exciting action in the meantime.
Georgia shook off suspensions to a good portion of their backfield, and Michigan State survived a scare thanks to Minnesota's Da'Jon McKnight, who had a great day. His performance is sure to grab the attention of NFL scouts.
Take a look at McKnight and the sickest plays from the early games.
7. Junior Hemingway: After Further Review
1 of 7Michigan's athletic senior WR, Junior Hemingway, made this athletic re-adjustment to another poorly thrown Denard Robinson pass to seemingly set the Wolverines up to go for two and the tie.
But, after further review, the play was called incomplete, as it was originally called on the field, and the Wolverines fell to Iowa. Still, it was a great catch, though.
Had it counted, it would have probably been No. 1.
6. Aron White in the Shrubs
2 of 7An Aaron to Aron connection as Aaron Murray finds his receiver, Aron White, for the TD in this Georgia beat-down of New Mexico State.
The play was run of the mill, but White's leap and hilarious land in the shrubs was not. He was OK, and so were the resurgent Bulldogs, as they rolled.
5. Junior Hemingway: This One Counts
3 of 7Junior Hemingway shows off the size, strength and leaping ability that makes him an attractive NFL prospect. Too bad this was only a first down and the Wolverines still lost.
Still, a nice cheap thrill.
4. Fosswhitt Whitaker Is a Beast in the Wildcat
4 of 7The Longhorns ran this play with Whitaker multiple times against the Red Raiders. The outcome was successful repeatedly, but on this play Whitaker bounced off tacklers Bo Jackson Tecmo Bowl style for the TD.
The Longhorns spanked the erratic Red Raiders.
3. Nichol Plated Fade Route
5 of 7Keith Nichol shows tremendous hands and concentration hauling in this contested pass from Kirk Cousins.
The Spartans were able to hold off a Minnesota team led by Da'Jon McKnight—but more from him in a minute.
2. Marquies Gray to Da'Jon McKnight Part 1
6 of 7An amazing effort by both Gray and McKnight produced this great play for the Golden Gophers. Gray's scramble and downfield vision, plus McKnight's athleticism, makes this a spectacle.
Gophers couldn't outlast the Spartans, but they did themselves proud, especially on the road.
1. Marquies Gray to Da'Jon McKnight Part 2
7 of 7The Minnesota connection hooks up again here. This one is more about McKnight's great hands and concentration, though the ball was thrown superbly.
Great individual efforts by those two, as they hooked up for a third TD later in the game. Still, the Gophers fell.
