College Football Week 10: Predictions for the Top 25 Teams
Week 10 of the college football season may lack the amount of interesting games, but it does feature the biggest game of the year in Alabama-LSU. That game will determine who ends up probably winning the SEC Title and will get a berth in the National Championship game.
Other than that game, there are very few matchups that should effect the BCS Rankings this week.
With that said, here is how each team in the Top 25 will fare this weekend.

Southern Miss Golden Eagles
1 of 25Southern Miss has one of the most balanced offenses in the country that averages 36 points per contest. That is not a good thing for East Carolina that has a defense that is ranked 90th out of 120 teams.
The Golden Eagles should win fairly easily and maybe move up a couple of spots in the rankings.
West Virginia Mountaineers
2 of 25The Mountaineers have struggled the past couple of weeks, as the conference realignment may be causing some distractions.
The good news is that a game against Louisville should turn things around, as the Cardinals don't have nearly enough offense to keep up in this one.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
3 of 25Idle.
Although the big game next Thursday against Virginia Tech may determine who comes out of the ACC Coastal division.
Auburn Tigers
4 of 25Idle.
Texas Longhorns
5 of 25The Texas Longhorns have struggled all year against good competition, and Texas Tech will provide another test for them.
Sure, the Red Raiders lost last week to Iowa State but I believe that was more of a hangover from the Oklahoma game more than anything.
I'll go with Texas Tech and their high-scoring offense for the upset.
Wisconsin Badgers
6 of 25I don't know what has gotten into Wisconsin the past couple of weeks. How do you lose two weeks in a row on Hail Mary passes?
A game against Purdue should get the bad taste out of their mouth, although they will still have their work cut out for them to make a BCS Bowl.
Arizona State Sun Devils
7 of 25Arizona State has seemed to blow bad teams out of the water this year, and UCLA is a bad team.
With UCLA ranked in the bottom half of points scored and points allowed, the Sun Devils should have no problem in this game.
Georgia Bulldogs
8 of 25After losing the first two games of the season, the Bulldogs are really hitting their stride at the right time.
A 3-5 New Mexico State team shouldn't stop that momentum, as Georgia is looking like the team that will play the winner of the Alabama-LSU game in the SEC Championship.
Michigan State Spartans
9 of 25Michigan State really laid an egg last week against Nebraska. The Spartans will have to win this week against Minnesota if they want any chance of a Big Ten title.
You have to like their chances, as Minnesota struggles on both sides of the ball.
Penn State Nittany Lions
10 of 25Idle.
Next week against Nebraska will tell us a lot about this Nittany Lions team.
Michigan Wolverines
11 of 25Normally, Iowa provides a tough test to any team they play, but after they lost to Minnesota last week, I have to change my pick.
I think the Wolverines win a close game on a late Denard Robinson touchdown.
Iowa has the weapons to compete with Michigan, but they are too inconsistent for my taste.
Kansas State Wildcats
12 of 25Kansas State had no chance against Oklahoma last week as they were proven that they still have a ways to go before they're considered contenders.
A game this week against Oklahoma State won't be any easier, as the Wildcats don't have the offense to keep up in this game.
Kansas State will continue to drop in the rankings.
Houston Cougars
13 of 25Houston won't lose any games this season with the teams they play in the C-USA.
Especially when majority of the teams they play are like UAB, who don't score points and don't stop the other team from scoring.
The Cougars will continue to move up in the rankings and at some point may crack the Top 10.
Virginia Tech Hokies
14 of 25Idle.
Although the game against Georgia Tech next week will make or break the Hokies' season.
Clemson Tigers
15 of 25Idle.
Nebraska Cornhuskers
16 of 25Ever since Nebraska got destroyed by Wisconsin, they have been on fire, winning big games against Ohio State and Michigan State.
A game Northwestern team won't put the fire out, as the Cornhuskers are now the favorites to win the Big Ten.
South Carolina Gamecocks
17 of 25One of the few big games this weekend besides the Alabama-LSU game will include the South Carolina Gamecocks against the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The Gamecocks are led by a young quarterback who will start his first big game, and they are without Marcus Lattimore.
Regardless, the Arkansas defense does get run all over and gives up a ton of points. I'll take South Carolina in a close game.
Oregon Ducks
18 of 25The Oregon Ducks have LaMichael James back and are playing their best football of the season.
The only concern I have as they play Washington this week is they may end up looking ahead to the Stanford game next week.
With that said, it's still hard to pick against the Ducks and their high-powered offense.
Arkansas Razorbacks
19 of 25See a few slides back for the breakdown.
But I like South Carolina to win a close game mainly because of the lack of defense the Razorbacks play.
This team can go long periods of time without scoring and their defense gives up a ton of yards, particularly on the ground.
Oklahoma Sooners
20 of 25If last week showed anything, it's that Oklahoma is still the talented team we all thought they were and when they're motivated, they can beat any team in the country.
On the other hand, Texas A&M isn't the team we thought they were, and they play little to no defense.
Sooners win as they try to make their way back into the National Championship conversation.
Boise State Broncos
21 of 25Boise State is playing another cupcake as they take on UNLV, a team whose defense is ranked 118th out of 120 teams.
Quarterback Kellen Moore has been licking his chops all week as he looks to throw for at least six touchdowns in this game.
Stanford Cardinal
22 of 25Stanford has looked really good all season, but it's easy to do so when you're playing teams like Oregon State.
The Beavers won't put up much of a challenge in this game, as they've only won two games this season.
Andrew Luck will lead the Cardinal into the big matchup against Oregon next week undefeated.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
23 of 25Oklahoma State should win their game against Kansas State this weekend if both teams play the way they did last week.
I don't have much confidence in the Wildcats, who really haven't done much to deserve their ranking and got destroyed last week by Oklahoma.
The Cowboys should be able to take care of business and become the No. 2 in the country.
Alabama Crimson Tide
24 of 25The biggest game of the year as the winner will end up in the SEC Championship and the BCS National Championship.
Both teams are extremely similar as they both play great defense and are going to want to run the ball.
Overall, I have to go with Alabama because they're at home, have a better coach and have the overall best player in Trent Richardson.
It's going to be a close game, but when it's a toss-up, always go with the team that's at home.
LSU Tigers
25 of 25Read the last slide.
LSU will put up a fight and the game will probably come down to a last-second field goal, but I think Alabama is the overall better team.
The defenses are a wash, but Nick Saban is the better coach, Richardson is the better back, McCarron has improved this year and they're at home.
I'll take Alabama.
