LSU vs Alabama: Is This a National Championship Preview?

Saturday is by far the biggest game of the season for college football. The atmosphere is buzzing around the matchup of No. 1 ranked LSU vs No. 2 ranked Alabama.

In a matchup that brings numerous story lines, including a former coach who won a national title for the other school, and a coach that is just borderline insane.

With the BCS the way it is, this could be the best game we see this season, regardless of in-season or postseason, but is this a preview of the national championship game?

Could two SEC teams finally meet in what could be a game of epic proportion? 

It's Going to Take Some Help

The BCS is set so the computer and the human decides who is the best team in the nation. It's too bad there is no playoff, but that is the reality right now. 

It's going to take some help for both of these teams to play in the national title. One of these teams is not going to be undefeated after Saturday night, and in the BCS that means the odds of making the title game greatly decrease. 

Two Best Teams in the Nation Hands Down

Although there is some speculation as to who is the best team in the nation, these two are the best, hands down. 

I know a lot of people are going to say, what about Stanford, what about Oklahoma, what about Oklahoma State? Well I've got news for you, these two teams are proven, and are in the toughest conference in the nation.

They are the two best teams, hands down. 

Tough Schedule Ahead for Both

It's going to be tough for both of these teams to climb the BCS rankings for the sole reason of their schedule. Although schedule helps you in the BCS, it's going to be very difficult for them both to finish without any blemishes the rest of the season.

Even the best teams have problem weeks.

Two games I'm looking at for both teams, is Alabama who has to go play Auburn in the Iron Bowl. For LSU that game is going to be Arkansas. There is still some serious work to do for these two teams after this matchup. 

No Other Real Powerhouse Squads

I mean yeah Oklahoma is pretty good, and so is OSU and Stanford, but really think about a team you could see running the table?  

Everyone has a tough schedule left and these two teams are by far the most powerful teams in college football. 

This Is the Best Opportunity

This could be the first time schools from the same conference would meet in a BCS final. It may seem unrealistic, but when you look at these teams on paper, they are the best options.

This game is either going to help or hurt the chances of both making it.

If the matchup goes into a triple-overtime thriller won on a pick six, there is definitely a high chance of us seeing this matchup again. 

Who Else Do You Want to See?

I mean really, look at all the hype surrounding this game. This is the most hype I've ever seen regarding a regular season game and for good reason.

Imagine what it would feel like for the national title game. 

The Harsh Reality

The reality of all of this though, is that it's not going to happen. With the system the way it currently is, if both of these teams finish the season without any other blemishes on their record, they will still not meet in the title game.

The BCS is too bogus for this to happen and we are being cheated as fans of the game.

In a playoff, this could happen, but with the current system of computers and polls, we won't see this matchup again, even it is epic. 

This Is the National Title Game!

For all purposes, this game is the national title game and that is why so much hype is surrounding it. Whoever comes out on top on this one, is going to be propelled to the top of the polls, and if they are able to win out, will be in the BCS National Championship Game.

If one of these teams makes it to that game, you can expect them to win it. The SEC is just the dominant conference in college football right now.

They have proved it year in and year out, and will more than likely prove it again this season.

Unfortunately, the likelihood of one of these two teams being short-changed is high, but we can still enjoy this matchup of epic proportions this weekend!
