Everybody loves a bit of juicy gossip.

    Football fans are no exception.

When it comes to the world football transfer market, rumors are more common than real, actual fact.

Take these five situations for example. Each features a player who expects to change clubs either in January or next summer.

Each also features dozens of rumors, some of which have to be false.

    Not that we care.

As football fans, we love to read the gossip and fantasize about our favorite club signing the next big superstar.

Keep on dreaming with these five…

Carlos Tevez Saga

1 of 5

    Who: Carlos Tevez

    Current club: Manchester City

Teams reportedly interested: Corinthians, Boca Juniors, Napoli, Roma, Inter, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Wasl, PSG, West Ham

What's going on? Where to begin?

Let's go back to August 2010. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini named Tevez the team's captain that month.

Four months later, while his agent was asking the club to renegotiate his contract, Tevez handed in a transfer request. He cited family concerns and disagreements with some members of the club's upper management.

City turned down the request and said they would seek compensation for breach of contract if Tevez refused to play.

Tevez withdrew the request in late December after he and the club had "clear-the-air" talks.

Got all that? Here's where it gets interesting.

Rumours swirled in the summer. Tevez played it coy.

First he said he would stay at City if his family issues could be resolved. Then he said he absolutely, positively, definitely wouldn't ever go back to City.

In September, he lost the captaincy but said he was happy at City.

That lasted only a few weeks. On September 27, Tevez was named a substitute for City's Champions League match at Bayern Munich. Controversy ensued.

Mancini said Tevez refused to enter the game. Tevez said something got lost in translation.

Either way, the rumour mill exploded.

Several teams expressed interest, with Brazil's Corinthians emerging as the front-runner last week. Napoli also seems keen to make a deal, but Tevez himself reportedly has said he wants to stay in the Premier League.

This week, though, Mancini offered Tevez a lifeline: Apologize and all will be forgiven.

We can't wait to see what happens next.

Bold prediction: Tevez ruins it with Mancini one last time and then scoots off to Brazil.

David Beckham's Next Home

2 of 5

    Who: David Beckham

    Current club: Los Angeles Galaxy

Teams reportedly interested: PSG, QPR, Tottenham Hotspur, LA Galaxy, Leicester City (denied here), potential MLS expansion club, unknown Brazilian club, unknown Middle East club, Manchester United,

What's going on? Beckham signed a much-publicized deal with the Galaxy in 2007. He was supposed to be the man who finally brought soccer to the mainstream in America.

It didn't happen, of course. Beckham has, however, played well for the Galaxy over his five seasons in Southern California.

His contract expires at the end of the season (MLS ends in a few more weeks), and Beckham is reportedly looking for a new home.

    Or is he?

He might stay with the Galaxy or head to another MLS team, possibly an expansion club. Then there are big spenders PSG in France.

Bold prediction: Beckham takes the money and heads to France.

The Neymar Sweepstakes

    Who: Neymar

    Club: Santos

Teams reportedly interested: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Chelsea.

What's going on? The president of Santos keeps saying Neymar is going nowhere.

    We don't believe him.

Neymar is heading for a big-money move. He knows it. You know it. We all know it.

And it will happen sooner than later.

Real Madrid players think he'd be a good fit at Santiago Bernabeu (of course they do).

    Barcelona also has shown interest.

Neymar,19, has already earned 15 caps for Brazil's full international squad, scoring eight goals.

Bold prediction: Real Madrid in January.

His club, Lille, insist he's staying until next summer.

    Bold prediction: Arsenal, next summer.

Where's Gary Going?

5 of 5

    Who: Gary Cahill

    Current club: Bolton Wanderers

Teams reportedly interested: Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Inter, Barcelona, Juventus
