Georgia Football 2011: Predicting the Rest of the Schedule
When the Bulldogs take the field against the Florida Gators on Saturday, it will be a start of a five-game stretch that will determine if the season was a success or a failure.
Out of the five games the Bulldogs play, three are against SEC opponents and many experts believe they can win those three games, which would give the Bulldogs a chance to win the SEC East.
But can the Bulldogs win their last three SEC games and finish with a 7-1 conference record? Also, if that does happen, can the Bulldogs end the season on a strong note with a win against Georgia Tech?
Here's looking at the last five games for the Bulldogs this season.
Florida Gators
1 of 5We all know the recent history of this series, so its obvious that the Bulldogs will come into this game with a little extra motivation.
Florida has not played well recently, but they do get John Brantley back in the mix for the annual contest. And with Georgia almost losing to Vanderbilt nearly two weeks ago, there is a little concern with Bulldogs fans about the attitude of the team.
Not to worry because Aaron Murray will have a huge game for the Dawgs, which will lead to a 31-24 win over the Gators.
New Mexico State Aggies
2 of 5This is really a tune-up game for the last three games of the season. The Aggies biggest win was probably in the second week of the season when they defeated Minnesota, which is not really that big of a win because Minnesota is not that good of a football team.
Dawgs will cruise to a 40-13 victory and get ready for their last two SEC opponents.
Auburn Tigers
3 of 5This game will be interesting because Auburn is not as bad as they played against LSU, yet they are not that great of a team because of the talent they lost from last year.
If the Bulldogs can stop Michael Dyer, they will win. However, this is another game that Murray has to play big in order for the Bulldogs to win.
This game will be a lot closer than expected, but the Bulldogs will come out victorious 23-14.
Kentucky Wildcats
4 of 5Some would say Kentucky is the worst team in SEC. Those who say that are accurate. They have yet to win a SEC game in three tries because they struggle on offense, defense and special teams.
This is a game Georgia should win easily, but again, they can't give Kentucky a chance to win, such as turning the ball over and special teams breakdowns.
I think the Bulldogs get another win and it won't be close. Final score: Dawgs 35, Kentucky 10.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
5 of 5Georgia Tech started off red hot, as they won their first six games of the season. But have recently cooled off with losses to Virginia and Miami.
Believe it or not, both Georgia and Tech could come in to the final game of the season with identical records, which is something that normally doesn't happen in this rivalry.
I expect to see a lot of scoring in this game, but because of the Bulldogs defense, they should be able so slow down the Tech offense just enough to come out on top.
Georgia wins 38-28 and finish with a 10-2 record. Will that be enough to win the SEC East? It should, but even if they don't win the East, 10-2 is a lot better than 6-6, which was the record the Bulldogs complied last year.
