Justin Blackmon Injury: Star Receiver's Exit from Game Not a Cause for Concern
Oklahoma State fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the news that the Justin Blackmon injury is not one to be overly concerned about.
ESPN Big 12 Blogger David Ubben reports that the star wide receiver was pulled from the game after the first half for precautionary reasons.
Blackmon started off the game with his typical style of play. He brought in eight receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown in just one half.
It appears that the Cowboys' undefeated season will remain alive as they close out the fourth quarter against the Missouri Tigers.
Now we will wait for word about the injury to Blackmon and the effect it could have on the team in upcoming weeks.
Chances are, Blackmon was removed from the game due to concussion symptoms after a hit he took in the first half.
He was also seen icing his shoulder on the sidelines.
If this is the case then there should be no reason he isn't ready to return to action next week against the Baylor Bears.
Even if Blackmon is to miss action next week, the Cowboys shouldn't have any major problems keeping their undefeated season alive, at least for one week.
The following week the team will need their star wideout back on the field to face the surprising Kansas State Wildcats.
There is no reason to panic for Oklahoma State. Blackmon should be fine and the Cowboys' dreams of a National Championship are still alive and well.
