Liverpool Transfer Scenarios: 6 Deals Kenny Dalglish Will Aim for in January
With Liverpool currently sitting one place below their targeted fourth place, Kenny Dalglish will look to make slight adjustments to his Liverpool side come the January transfer window. Most of these deals will involve players leaving Anfield, but the King may look to sign one or two big name players to ensure Liverpool can fight for a place in next years Champions League.
While January will turn out to be a much more relaxed month for Liverpool in terms of transfers, here are some deals that may just happen.
Loan out Conor Coady
1 of 6Conor Coady is expected to become the next Liverpool great, the defensive midfielder is composed on the ball and turning out consistent good performances. He needs to gain experience at the highest tier of football, and the plethora of Liverpool midfielders at the moment have taken that opportunity away from him.
A championship move would definitely benefit the youngster.
Sell Joe Cole
2 of 6Joe Cole came to Anfield under Roy Hodgson two summers ago, and the move brought heavy expectation. A debut red card and a string of bad performances resulted in a loan move to French side Lille, where he currently plies his trade. He would usually occupy the place just behind the strikers, but the return of Captain Steven Gerard will force him out of that role and out of the side altogether.
Dalglish will be asking himself if Joe Cole holds any value to a resurgent Liverpool side, and the answer will be a resounding no.
Sign Eden Hazard
3 of 6Reportedly, part of the Joe Cole deal involved Liverpool getting first choice over the eventual sale of Eden Hazard. If this is true, Liverpool will almost definitely make a move to sign the winger. He won't come cheaply, the deal would cost anything from 15-30 million pounds.
Sign Christian Eriksen
4 of 6Chrsitian Eriksen is one of the hottest prospects in football. The attacking midfielder has been on the Liverpool radar for some time, and I expect a bid to be made either in January or in the summer, depending on Eden Hazard.
Sell Maxi Rodriguez
5 of 6Maxi Rodriguez endured a painfully slow start to his Liverpool career, however, his form picked up last season when he netted successive hat-tricks. Since then, the Argentinian has been limited to only a few performances, and his high wages will seal his exit.
Loan out Jay Spearing
6 of 6Jay Spearing is young, gifted and determined. However like most on this list, the lack of available playing time will force him out. Jonjo Shelvey is benefiting hugely from his loan move, so Jay Spearing should also welcome a move to a lower Premier League side or a Championship club.
A half-season loan would be the best option, allowing the youngster to obtain valuable experience to help him push into the first team next year.
