BCS Rankings 2011: Oregon and 3 One-Loss Teams with Solid BCS Cases
A few elite college teams have blemished records, but their BCS hopes are certainly not in shambles yet.
Here are three teams with one loss that can make legitimate BCS arguments.
No. 9 Arkansas Razorbacks
The Razorbacks have been very impressive lately, beating ranked teams (Auburn and Texas A&M) in consecutive weeks.
Their one loss on the season was to second-ranked Alabama, and there's definitely no shame in that.
Their BCS chances will largely depend on how they play against No. 1 LSU in the last game of the season.
If they win the rest of their games and put on a solid performance against the Tigers, the Razorbacks will be in prime position.
No. 10 Oregon Ducks
Oregon has rebounded very well after their season-opening loss to LSU.
The Ducks' high-flying offense is as powerful as advertised. They are currently fifth in the nation in rushing yards per game (315) and third in points per game (48.7).
Last week Oregon beat down Brock Osweiler and the Arizona State Sun Devils, despite injuries to Darron Thomas and LaMichael James.
With their depth and speed, I don't picture Oregon losing again this season.
No. 13 Nebraska Cornhuskers
The Cornhuskers bounced back from their blowout loss to Wisconsin by beating the free-falling Ohio State Buckeyes.
Nebraska is ranked 11th in the country with 246.8 yards per game. Running back Rex Burkhead and quarterback Taylor Martinez have also combined for 18 rushing touchdowns on the season.
They've only played one good team (and they lost), but the Cornhuskers will have a few more chances to prove themselves. They take on three more ranked teams this season (Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan).
