BCS Rankings: 10 Players Who Will Decide the BCS Championship
With the BCS rankings about to come out, it is already known who will be at the top of the list.
Each of the top teams in the country has a lot of talent and game-changing players.
These players have the ability to take over a game and put their respective teams on their back.
Here are 10 players who could propel their teams into national title contention, and help decide the BCS Championship in the process.
10. Montee Ball
1 of 10The two-headed rushing attack of Wisconsin is headlined by Montee Ball.
Ball has already rushed for 16 touchdowns in the first seven games for Wisconsin.
The Badgers are positioned to be in the top six of the initial rankings, and will certainly move up the list if they continue winning.
Ball averages 6.1 yards per carry, and has rushed for over 650 yards on the season.
He is a load to stop for the Badgers.
9. Brandon Weeden
2 of 10Oklahoma St. is one of a few teams who control their own destiny. If they win their remaining games, they will be in New Orleans playing for a National Championship.
They are led by quarterback Brandon Weeden. Weeden has already passed for over 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns on the season.
He leads a Cowboys squad who averages nearly 50 points per game.
They can score with anybody, and Weeden has the talent to carry the Cowboys on their back to a BCS National Championship game.
8. Landry Jones
3 of 10Landry Jones has come a long way in two years, and has developed into one of the best quarterbacks in the country.
He has 16 touchdown passes and has thrown for 2,177 yards on the season.
Like Oklahoma St, the Sooners control their own destiny, and Landry, along with wide receiver Ryan Broyles, are the two players who could lead Oklahoma to the BCS Championship.
7. LaMichael James
4 of 10Oregon has a lot more work to do than many other teams on the list, considering that they already have one loss.
That loss, however, is to possibly the top team in the country, and the Ducks are already back in the Top 10.
Star running back LaMichael James is arguably the best player in the country if he can stay on the field.
His injured elbow leaves question marks, but if he can get back on the field, the Ducks can get hot and certainly run the table.
With a few lucky bounces, that could put them back in the title game.
6. Jordan Jefferson
5 of 10LSU has the best resume of anybody in the country, and they have done it without quarterback Jordan Jefferson.
While Jefferson is not likely to ever regain his starting job, he could be a difference maker down the stretch for LSU.
The Tigers have some difficult games remaining on their schedule, and throwing Jefferson into the mix for some packages could give teams something else to prepare for.
In a competitive SEC, Jefferson could be the key to propelling LSU into the BCS title game.
5. Ryan Broyles
6 of 10Broyles is one of the greatest receivers ever in college football. He became the all-time leader in receptions last night.
Nobody in the country can guard him, and he is the type of difference-maker for Oklahoma that no other teams have.
He already has 60 receptions for 815 yards this season, and those numbers will at least double by the end of the year.
If the offense is ever in trouble, they can just throw the ball to their star and let him do the rest.
The rest could be an appearance in the National Championship game.
4. Andrew Luck
7 of 10Andrew Luck is without question the No. 1 prospect for the NFL draft, but while he is still in college, he has some work to do.
Luck and Stanford are undefeated and must win their remaining games to have a chance to play for a National Championship.
He may not have as much talent around him as some of the other players on the list, but he certainly makes up for it with his skill level.
If any player in the country can put a team on his back, it is Andrew Luck.
3. Kellen Moore
8 of 10Kellen Moore is one of the front-runners for the Heisman, and he is the face of Boise St. football.
Moore has seemingly put Boise St. on his back for the last decade, and has led the Broncos to unparalleled success.
If Boise St. has a chance to play for a National Championship, it will need Moore to continue to have one big game after another.
There is a good chance he could do so, and Boise St. could finally be playing for a National Championship.
2. Trent Richardson
9 of 10Richardson is having a much better season than Mark Ingram did when he won the Heisman trophy.
He already has 912 yards and 15 touchdowns. That is good for just about seven yards per carry.
Alabama already has the best defense in the country, and while their offense may not be as strong, Richardson is developing into the best running back in the country.
When the Crimson Tide are struggling on offense, they can give him the ball and let him carry the load.
1. Russell Wilson
10 of 10Russell Wilson is the key to Wisconsin getting to the BCS title game. He is the difference-maker, and is exactly what the Badgers needed to get them over the hump and into national title contention.
Wilson has thrown 14 touchdowns with only one interception on the season.
He has passed for over 1,500 yards, and has also rushed for nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns on the season.
Wisconsin has the talent to win it all, and Wilson will be the one to carry them to the BCS title game if they do so.
