35 Best Plays from LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with Miami Heat
I promise I'll get into analysis pieces soon. The lockout has been killing me, and I've exhausted just about every way to analyze the Miami Heat and their current position. It's tough to continue rehashing the same ideas over and over again, thus the reason for all of the rankings surrounding the entertainment value of the team currently and in the past.
With that being said, let's get into some more rankings dealing with the best highlight reel worthy plays from the Miami Heat this past year. Rather than focusing on one player, however, we center the focus on the big three in Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh. These three players might have had some trouble getting off the ground, but they did perform some of the NBA's greatest plays last season and even in the history of the game.
Despite wires getting crossed from time to time and the niche of each player being a little difficult for them to decipher, all three players did exhibit great chemistry playing together, as you can tell by the number of alley oops and connections they had together. With Wade and James slashing at will and Bosh knocking down countless mid-range jumpers, the Big Three, along with the rest of this Heat team, may have found its identity by the end of the season.
There are still kinks to work out for this team overall and the Big Three, but it's better that this gets addressed in their first season together rather than years down the road. A championship will come in the very near future for this team; they're just too quality of a squad to not obtain one within the next five seasons.
We take on the Big Three and the 35 best plays of the season that they completed. You're going to be saying Oooh more than Mordecai and Rigby.

35. Dwyane Wade Dunks on Antawn Jamison
1 of 36A pretty average dunk by Dwyane Wade standards, but an impressive poster dunk nonetheless.
Started off by a sick crossover, as always, on Mo Williams, Wade then sees the open lane and nothing but real estate in front of him. Veteran power forward Antawn Jamison would attempt to deter Wade, but it would only result in an extra point, as Wade would finish the slam with the foul.
34. Dwyane Wade Throws Down over Amare Stoudemire
2 of 36The big three had some sort of serious vendetta against the New York Knicks this season.
After Dwyane Wade crosses over Raymond Felton, he then pulls another quick dribble move to throw off Amare Stoudemire on his way to the rim. The minor hesitation causes Stoudemire to lose his progress, and it results in Wade throwing down the dunk with 'Stat' coming from behind for the futile effort to block it.
It's a shame that the lockout has dragged on this long, or we could have seen these two teams meet up on opening night.
33. LeBron James Tells Derrick Rose Not in His House
3 of 36The Chicago Bulls might have gotten the upper hand on the Miami Heat in the regular season when they won all three matchups, but that was quickly forgotten once the two teams met up in the Conference Finals.
The Bulls would win Game 1 by 21 points and would then drop the next four games as they saw their NBA Finals hopes whisked away by the strong play of Chris Bosh and the clutch plays by Dwyane Wade and LeBron James.
This play was one of the exact reasons as to why the Bulls couldn't beat out the Heat. The Heat's athleticism on defense was too much, as shown by this play where James comes from behind to send back MVP Derrick Rose's lay up attempt.
32. LeBron James with the Mans Jam vs Golden State
4 of 36Against the Golden State Warriors, anything is possible on offense.
After a Zydrunas Ilgauskas miss and a Chris Bosh offensive rebound, James recognizes that there are three players attempting to get the ball back from Bosh on the baseline. Bosh turns around to see James cutting and bounces it to him, where he then grabs the ball and throws it down with authority.
I could make an entire slideshow consisting of plays the Heat managed to complete against the Warriors this past season.
31. LeBron James Dunks on the D-League's Finest
5 of 36Now this one just isn't fair. It's bad enough that LeBron James was just allowed to abuse Jordan Crawford at half-court and then it only became worse when James would take the Eddie House pass and finish over new Washington Wizards product Othyus Jeffers.
Sometimes, it's just the smart idea to back down.
30. Dwyane Wade Dunks on Anderson Varejao One More Time
6 of 36LeBron James didn't get the glory of a dunk against his former team.
Instead, Dwyane Wade took over those duties with one of his best dunks of the season. With the game still close and the Heat looking to create some separation, Wade would take those matters into his own hands by driving against Jamario Moon and Anderson Varejao and throwing down over the both of them.
I'm sure Varejao had some repressed memories come back.
29. Chris Bosh Throws Down the Putback Against the Clippers
7 of 36In a game centered around the antics of Blake Griffin and his dunks, Chris Bosh decided that he could cause just as much damage to the rim.
It wasn't as powerful as Griffin, but it was impressive to see the usually mild-mannered Bosh reach back to throw down the put-back dunk off of the Dwyane Wade miss.
28. Dwyane Wade Breaks out the George Jefferson vs Sacramento
8 of 36Dwyane Wade has usually always been the humble player, so it makes it quite the scene to actually see him celebrate his plays.
After Wade finishes the put-back against the Sacramento Kings, he then does the "George Jefferson" to celebrate.
27. LeBron James Chases Down Wesley Johnson
9 of 36LeBron James was slacking on his chase-down blocks this past season. It didn't seem as if he was chasing down and blocking as many shots as he did in seasons before with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
One of his top chase-down blocks came early in the season against the Minnesota Timberwolves, where James came from out of nowhere to volleyball spike Wesley Johnson's lay-up attempt five rows into the American Airlines Arena.
26. Carlos Boozer Was Making Fun of This Guy?
10 of 36Prior to the start of their series against the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls power forward Carlos Boozer claimed that the Heat only had two great players.
How did Chris Bosh respond to this? Only with two 30-plus point games and playing the best basketball he had played all season long. Bosh exposed Boozer as a lackluster defender and as nothing near a superior offensive player either.
He also slammed a few dunks over him too, with none better than the Game 1 poster he had.
25 (a). LeBron James Pulls a Larry Bird Pass to Erick Dampier
11 of 36If you don't know what I mean by "pulls a Larry Bird," then get your knowledge up and watch some 1980's Boston Celtics.
If you do know what I mean, then congratulations. You won't have to sift through countless YouTube videos to know what I'm talking about.
After Erick Dampier gets his lay up attempt blocked, Amare Stoudemire's outlet pass is blocked by LeBron James. The Heat star then grabs the ball out of mid-air and throws it behind his head without even looking to an open Dampier, who then throws down the jam.
25 (b). LeBron James Goes Behind His Back to Erick Dampier
12 of 36LeBron James and Erick Dampier must practice these unbelievable passes and weak dunks in their spare time.
This particular play features the two, once again playing the New York Knicks, hooking up after LeBron James somehow splits a behind the back pass between two defenders to Dampier for the easy dunk.
24. LeBron James Dunks Around Kevin Durant
13 of 36For some reason, there are people out there that actually believe Kevin Durant is better than LeBron James.
I'm not at all sure where that came from since James is a much better all-around player, with Durant holding an edge in consistency when it comes to perimeter shooting. Aside from his jump shot, Durant doesn't hold many advantages over the Miami Heat superstar.
Especially when it comes to strength and the initial first step as shown by this play. James is too quick for Durant to react, and it results in James going baseline and then contorting his body to throw down the powerful slam.
23. LeBron James Turns Jrue Holiday's Ankles into Dust
14 of 36When you're considered a point guard and yet you're 6'8" and 265 pounds, you need to have some pretty crafty handles.
LeBron James managed to show that off once again. After ripping Andre Iguodala on defense, James then dribbles down court, where he encounters Jrue Holiday. James responds by going through his legs and then behind his back to nail Holiday to the floor before dishing off to Dwyane Wade, who throws it down with two hands.
22. Dwyane Wade Dunks All over the Utah Jazz
15 of 36Hey Kyrylo Fesenko, maybe instead of pulling the cheap move and pulling Dwyane Wade down by his jersey, you could actually instead play real defense rather than continuing to be recognized as a no-name center that is now known strictly for being put on posters.
He should have known that it's nearly impossible to deter Wade once he's already gained momentum, and he felt the full force of that.
21. Chris Bosh Dunks All over His Former Team
16 of 36This was the Chris Bosh that the Miami Heat wanted to see all of last year. Maybe they should just have him face his former team more than twice.
Bosh was matched, up with his successor Amir Johnson and would make it look really easy by spinning off of the young power forward, pump faking to lose him one more time and then dunking over his replacement with the foul.
Hey, Miami Heat organization! Chris Bosh can still do this, so give him the ball once in awhile.
20. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James Match Up Against San Antonio
17 of 36Only three weeks after losing by 30 points to the San Antonio Spurs, the teams would match up again in Miami this time around.
The Heat were ready for the Spurs, as they would completely dominate on their way to a 110-80 victory, but not before embarrassing the Western Conference's No. 1 seed. Already with a huge 17-point lead early in the fourth quarter, Bosh would block the shot of DeJuan Blair into the hands of Dwyane Wade. He would take it all the way down court before leaving it to LeBron, who would finish with emphasis.
It only got uglier from there for the Spurs, as Dwyane Wade would intercept Manu Ginobili's pass seconds later before finishing up with a slam of his own to give the Heat an insurmountable 20-point lead.
19. LeBron James Dunks on His Old Team
18 of 36LeBron James' first game against Cleveland was an absolute massacre for the Cavaliers and their fanbase, as their former idol scored 38 points before sitting out the entire fourth quarter.
However, that game mostly featured James hitting a myriad of jumpers and three-pointers with the occasional acrobatic alley-oop.
It wasn't until the two teams met again in Miami that James would unleash his fury around the rim, as he slammed one home over the top of two former teammates in Christian Eyenga and J.J. Hickson.
18. Chris Bosh Brings the Pain on the Los Angeles Lakers
19 of 36Chris Bosh had a little trouble showing off his aggressive nature in his first season with the Miami Heat. Bosh had this trouble because he was still adjusting to being a third scoring option while also attempting to find his niche and working against front courts that solely focused on him since the Heat were desperately lacking at center.
Bosh still managed to make a few highlight reels, with one of his top plays coming against the Los Angeles Lakers during their Christmas Day matchup. After Wade drove in and attracted a few defenders his way, he passed it off to an open Bosh, who would take one step before throwing it down over Matt Barnes with the foul.
I thought this guy was passive?
17. Dwyane Wade Gets Nasty on Dirk Nowitzki
20 of 36Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki have had quite the history together.
Wade was the one who ended Nowitzki's dreams of a first championship after winning four straight and averaging 35 points per game to give the Miami Heat the 2006 title. Nowitzki would get his revenge in 2011 as he and the Mavericks would win four of the last five games, the final three, to give Dallas their first title.
The Mavs got the title and the Heat got the highlight plays, with not many better than Wade's dribble move against Nowitzki, which he then finished off by throwing down in reverse.
16. LeBron James and Mario Chalmers Hook Up off the Inbound
21 of 36Not every day when you see Mario Chalmers as part of a highlight reel, but I suppose anything is possible when that play happens to involve LeBron James.
Going up against the Charlotte Bobcats, Chalmers is inbounding the ball early on in the game and is looking to make a play. James manages to lose his defender and then cuts to the rim, where Chalmers has already thrown up the alley-oop pass.
LeBron will of course finish with the monstrous slam to complete the rarely seen Statue of Liberty dunk.
15. LeBron James Welcomes Patrick Patterson to the NBA
22 of 36Patrick Patterson should have known better than to attempt to defend LeBron James off the dribble.
Too slow and not strong enough to deter "The King," James beats Patterson to the rim and throws it down with such ferocity that it knocks the Houston Rocket power forward to the floor.
14. Dwyane Wade Crosses over the Boston Celtics
23 of 36This is elderly abuse at its worst (finest?).
It was LeBron James getting the majority of the glory against the Boston Celtics for his late-game theatrics that no one seems to remember anymore, but it was Dwyane Wade with some of the best plays of the series.
He starts off with his patented euro-step on Kevin Garnett by making the former Defensive Player of the Year spin like a top before fouling him and giving up the lay up. On the very next play, Wade will the break the ankles of Ray Allen before finishing up with a three-pointer.
Seven points in 30 seconds for Wade.
13. LeBron James Slices Through the Phoenix Suns "Defense"
24 of 36The Phoenix Suns don't try to play defense too much, and it shows here, with LeBron James throwing down one of his meanest dunks of the year.
After splitting two defenders up top, James then avoids the block "attempt" by Jared Dudley and absorbs the two-handed push by Channing Frye before dunking it home with the foul.
12. Dwyane Wade Finishes the Alley-Oop vs Dallas
25 of 36At least the Miami Heat have plenty of highlights to look at during their first trip together to the championship.
A title would have been nice, but at least they'll have a lot of lasting memories off of some miraculous highlights.
This particular play is easily the best of the NBA Finals by the Heat, as it features LeBron James throwing up the alley-oop to Dwyane Wade, who throws it down over Brian Cardinal.
11. LeBron James Makes His Lone Appearance in the NBA Finals
26 of 36LeBron James didn't do much in the NBA Finals aside from disappear, but he did at least make his appearance on Ian Mahinmi's head.
10. LeBron James Spins and Wins over Rajon Rondo
27 of 36Rajon Rondo had this one coming. When you flop as bad as this, referees are going to notice that you might be a little happy when it comes to contact.
Case in point: this play. With LeBron James charging down court after an errant pass, Rondo then gets set up to take the charge. James realizes what Rondo is going to try and do and spins off of him to avoid full contact. Rondo flops with no call and James races down the rest of the way to throw down the easy slam.
The Heat's five-game series win over the Boston Celtics signaled a changing of the guard in the Eastern Conference, and yes, I do know that the Chicago Bulls had the top record in the East last season.
9. Coming to a Screensaver Near You...
28 of 36Making for one of the sickest photos of the year, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade put on an early show for the Milwaukee Bucks crowd that had already seen James throw down over two Bucks a few plays prior.
This time, the play features another fast break, this time being led by Wade. With Carlos Arroyo and Wade leading the fast break, the two Bucks that were down court had no idea that Wade would dish the ball behind him to the trailing LeBron James.
James would then grab the ball and throw down the monstrous slam to get some ooh's and aah's out of the opposing crowd.
8. Dwyane Wade Takes Joey Graham on a Ride
29 of 36As the saying goes, don't tug on Superman's cape.
Joey Graham tug on Dwyane Wade's cap and he held on and got taken for a ride. A ride that he would prefer not to remember since he actually held on to Wade and the Heat star still managed to finish off the dunk with the obvious foul.
Just let it happen, Joey. The nice two points is a lot better than the emphatic two points and the foul.
7. Dwyane Does It All Against Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic
30 of 36Dwyane Wade has become notorious for blocking the shots of players that are much, much taller than him.
Dwight Howard becomes his latest victim, as Wade sneaks up from behind to pin the center's lay-up to the board and then takes it all the way back to finish with the finesse lay up after the sick euro-step against Gilbert Arenas.
6. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade Connect in New York
31 of 36LeBron James and Dwyane Wade managed to hook up for some of the NBA's best alley-oops last season. Despite having minor inconveniences with their niche in the offense, the two did exhibit great chemistry playing together, and it resulted in some of the greatest plays of the NBA last season.
Here, they give Madison Square Garden another show,m as Dwyane Wade passes it to LeBron James, who throws it down with one hand to cap the fast break and another emphatic two points for the Heat.
5. Dwyane Wade Comes Up Clutch Against the Lakers
32 of 36Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant are two of the league's most clutch players, with the two of them arguably being one and two in that discussion.
With the game tied at 88 with only a little more than 1:30 remaining, it was going to either be Bryant or Wade coming up big. Bryant made his move and attempted to drive, but would then get the ball poked away by the clutch defender in Wade.
The ball would go out to Mike Bibby, who would tip it back to Wade and would then pass it off to the streaking LeBron James, who finishes off the fast break with a slam to give the Heat a two-point lead and the eventual victory.
4. Dwyane Wade and LeBron James Hook Up Against New Jersey
33 of 36Coming early on in their stint together, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James wanted to make a name for themselves amongst highlight reels everywhere.
This play was a good way to start off. About to finish the fast break against the New Jersey Nets, rather than electing to go for the easy dunk, Dwyane Wade will instead continue to drive and then throw it up to the cutting LeBron James, who throws down the unbelievable alley-oop with two hands to cap another perfect Miami Heat fast break.
I thought these two were supposed to have trouble co-existing, or is that just another myth made up by critics that we can throw out?
3. LeBron James Surprises the Indiana Pacers
34 of 36One of the best games of the season for LeBron James, and one I was lucky enough to attend, features The King going up against the Indiana Pacers.
James hit a number of dunks this game, with none better than the one he threw down off of the Dwyane Wade miss.
After Wade's shot gets partially blocked by Josh McRoberts, James then grabs the ball in mid-air and proceeds to throw it down over McRoberts and a number of other Pacers.
2. Dwyane Wade Unleashes the Beast on Kendrick Perkins
35 of 36We thought that Dwyane Wade wouldn't be able to top himself after his dunk on Anderson Varejao.
We were wrong. We should know to never doubt Dwyane Wade when it comes to making a highlight play.
Wade takes on the entire Oklahoma City Thunder defense in this sequence, as he starts off with a crossover on James Harden, spins on Serge Ibaka and then throws down the unbelievable slam over renowned shot blocking center Kendrick Perkins.
1. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade Hook Up in an Unusual Way
36 of 36If LeBron James dunked it, the world might have imploded.
I guess they'll just settle for the simple 90 foot lay up alley-oop.
