College Football Rankings: 3 Biggest Injustices in Week 4 AP Poll
The pollsters have angered America yet again.
They are overacting to certain games and doing teams a severe injustice.
The AP Poll for Week 4 is littered with teams that are getting too much credit for beating cupcakes while teams that decide to step out of conference to challenge themselves are hurt by the decision.
Here are three teams that are not on par with their AP ranking.
No. 11 Florida State
The Seminoles dropped six spots in the poll after giving the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners the scare of a lifetime.
Did the pollsters watch the game?
The Seminoles defense was very aggressive and showed off an incredibly dangerous pass rush. This isn’t your typical defeat, and the pollsters overreacted to the fact FSU now has an early-season loss.
They should be closer to the No. 7-9 range.
No. 17 Baylor Bears
Give them credit for outlasting a TCU team that won a BCS game a year ago (even if that Horned Frogs team lost a ton of seniors), but that doesn’t warrant such a lofty ranking.
Their other win (a 48-0 romp over Stephen F. Austin) doesn’t mean a whole lot, and putting a team that will be getting smoked by the likes of Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma so high is pointless. It’s like they wanted to get Baylor a taste of what it’s like to be in the polls before they get smashed in conference play.
The Bears have an exciting offense that can move the ball on almost every team, but their weak defense is going to be a huge issue for the rest of the year.
The Bears should be closer to the No. 21-23 range.
No. 22 Michigan Wolverines
Michigan football is back!
Denard Robinson is one of the most electric players in the entire sport, and having him on your team means you always have a shot at winning.
Romps over Western and Eastern Michigan were sandwiched between the epic last-second victory over a desperate Notre Dame club—one of the most impressive wins of the entire college football season.
The rushing game is one of the top 20 in the nation and the defense is allowing just over two TDs a game. It’s all coming together for Brady Hoke in his first year in charge, and this team is only going to rise up the polls further.
They are certainly better than TCU, South Florida and Baylor...three teams currently ranked ahead of them in the polls.
Michigan should be ranked closer to No. 17.
