College Football Rankings: 3 Huge Teams Guaranteed to Fall in Poll After Week 4
Fasten your seatbelts because Week 4 of the college football season is going to rock your world.
We have monstrous, earth-shattering matchups this week that will forever shake the BCS rankings.
If you thought last week was a nail-bitter, this week will be a hair-puller. You haven’t seen anything yet because the final week of September will be ground-breaking for certain programs.
(2) LSU at (16) West Virginia
West Virginia received a scare from Maryland. Now they’ll be frightened and left tormented.
LSU comes in as hot as ever. Les Miles has his team rolling behind phenomenal defense led by Morris Claiborne and a great offense led by running backs Michael Ford and Spencer Ware.
The Mountaineers had a nice run to open the season, but they are no match for the powerhouse that is the LSU Tigers.
(7) Oklahoma State at (8) Texas A&M
The Aggies were lucky to be in the top 10 of the rankings, so it’s about time they drop.
The Cowboys are decimating their opponents due to the elite combination of QB Brandon Weeden and WR Justin Blackmon. Simply put, they are unstoppable and it is inconceivable to think the Aggies defense will put the kibosh on them.
Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill is solid, but he won’t be able to keep pace with Weeden. Weeden is one of the top QB prospects in the nation heading into the 2012 NFL draft and he’ll prove his worth in this big time matchup.
(14) Arkansas at (3) Alabama
Alabama will jump ahead of LSU in the rankings, again, but they may just jump ahead of Oklahoma too given the opponent. Arkansas has been incredible out of the gate with three wins at home outscoring opponents 141-38 in those three contests. Unfortunately, the loss of Ryan Mallett to the NFL and Knile Davis to injury will catch up to the Razorbacks.
Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide defense has been marvelous to open the season. Dont’a Hightower is leading arguably the top defense in the nation and will put too much pressure on Tyler Wilson throughout the game. Alabama has a rather inexperienced offense, but the rushing attack will lead the way with Trent Richardson.
