Liverpool FC News: Reds on Alert as Liverpool Heads to White Hart Lane
The past week has not been what we in the business call "good" for Liverpool. In fact, it has been downright awkward, but it can all be erased by claiming points against Tottenham.
The Reds came back from the international break ready to build on the quick start they enjoyed at the beginning of the season.
Instead, they laid an egg to Stoke City and came away with a loss. Liverpool may very well be cursed at Britannia, but it hardly makes the sting any less painful.

They then had to deal with a knucklehead maneuver when Nathan Eccleston, a reserve forward, tweeted some nonsense involving 9/11, the Illuminati and a conspiracy.
The club now has to deal with this PR gaffe while trying to right the ship ahead of an away fixture. That is hardly the type of headline the club likes to see before match day.
Waiting at White Hart Lane is a budding Spurs club. Tottenham will most likely welcome back Rafael Van der Vaart, strengthening the midfield with a player that now has a chip on his shoulder.
Van der Vaart was besides himself that he was left out of Spurs' Europa fixture. You can bet he will be gunning to prove his worth Sunday.
Reds assistant coach, Steven Clarke, is completely confident his boys will come to play this weekend. He spoke about the mood after the Stoke City loss.

""We played well and we created enough chances to have won two games so we have to give the players the positives and understand their disappointment at the same time...We have to make sure when we go to Tottenham on Sunday that we put in an acceptable performance, only this time make sure we get the required result."

It will be tough as defender Glen Johnson will sit with a hamstring injury. But the will is very strong in the Liverpool locker room.
It is a long season, but Liverpool can't afford to get into an early hole. This is a side capable of big things this year.
Whether they reach those goals depends on how they bounce back from the type of adversity presented this past week.
