NFL Injury Report: Who Is Feeling the Pain
The 2011 NFL season is underway, and teams are gearing up for one heck of a season.
Yet some teams are already dealing with unfortunate injuries early in the season. One of the worst cases, the Indianapolis Colts Peyton Manning, might not be able to play for a large portion of the season.
Here is the Week 1 NFL injury report.
Arian Foster
1 of 8Current Team: Houston Texans
Position: Running Back
Injury: Hamstring
Play Week 1: Questionable
Arian Foster, a widely debated player, might not play in Houston's first game against division rival Indianapolis.
While he did not participate in the team practice and is a questionable starter, Foster told Yahoo! Sports that he is confident he will play Sunday.
Yet his optimism may be misleading, since he hasn't practiced and only wants to try it out on Saturday and Sunday.

Peyton Manning
2 of 8Current Team: Indianapolis Colts
Position: Quarterback
Injury: Neck
Play Week 1: Out
The Indianapolis Colts better get ready for a season without Peyton Manning. With a neck injury that will prevent him from participating in any games in the near future, the Colts will have to start backup quarterback Kerry Collins.
While Kerry Collins's performance has been less than impressive, coach Jim Caldwell says that they have been preparing the team for a season without Manning. He also mentioned that he has faith that Collins will do well for the team.
Austin Collie and Anthony Gonzalez
3 of 8Current Team: Indianapolis Colts
Positions: Wide Receivers
Injuries: Foot (Collie) and Hamstring (Gonzalez)
Play Week 1: Questionable for Both
While Collie had full participation in practice, Gonzalez had only a limited practice session.
With so many injuries going into week 1 for the Colts, there is little hope for a victory against Houston. Still, Colts fans must stay positive.
Marion Barber
4 of 8Current Team: Chicago Bears
Position: Running Back
Injury: Calf
Play Week 1: Out
Marion Barber is out for week 1 and is not expected to return until at least week 2. Offensive coordinator Mike Martz said: "He's a guy who can certainly jump cut and do all those things, but he'll take a defender on, too, and break tackles. He's kind of a complete back in that way."
Barber is another player that could play this Sunday, but should rest his injury so he doesn't strain it.
Justin Tuck
5 of 8Current Team: New York Giants
Position: Defensive End
Injury: Neck
Play Week 1: Questionable
Justin Tuck has had limited practice time over the course of his injury. It is a scary injury that he should probably rest for week 1.
While Tuck wants to be out there and knows that he is essential to the team, he needs to think about the long-term effects of the injury if it is strained during an unimportant game.
Sidney Rice
6 of 8Current Team: Seattle Seahawks
Position: Wide Receiver
Injury: Shoulder
Play Week 1: Doubtful
Rice didn't practice all week and probably won't play this weekend against the 49ers. In fact, last year no player who was listed as "doubtful" played a game in that particular week. He won't return until at least week 3.
LaRon Landry
7 of 8Current Team: Washington Redskins
Position: Strong Safety
Injury: Hamstring
Play Week 1: Out
LaRon Landry, one of the Redskins best defensive players, will be out this weekend for the season opener against the Giants.
Judging from the way the team has handled his injury, he probably won't play for a week or two.
Reed Doughty will start for Landry and will hopefully aid the Redskins in week 1.
Terence Newman
8 of 8Current Team: Dallas Cowboys
Position: Cornerback
Injury: Groin
Play Week 1: Out
Terrence Newman will be out for week 1 and is unsure when he will return. The Dallas cornerback is vital to their defense, and his absence will be noticeable.
Newman obtained the injury while in training camp and missed the entire preseason.
Judging from the time he has already been out, I don't think he'll be one of their starting cornerbacks until at least week 3.
