EPL Transfer Speculation: 5 Players To Sign from the Npower Championship
Tomorrow is transfer deadline day, and the move of Scott Parker from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur is seemingly a very strong possibility.
The former England international was left out of the Hammers' squad because he was not "mentally right to play."
Tottenham have taken a sound approach by signing a player from the Championship. Adam Johnson, Robert Huth and Tim Cahill are examples of players signed from English Football's second tier who have had very successful Premier League careers.
Here we take a look at the top five players that could be on the move up to the Premier League on deadline day.
5. Marvin Sordell (Watford)
1 of 5A fast and strong England Under-20 international, Sordell broke out with 15 goals in the 2010/2011 Championship season for the Hornets.
He has drawn comparisons with Wigan forward Victor Moses and formed a lethal partnership last season with Danny Graham, who has already moved to Premier League Swansea City.
4. Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough)
2 of 5Middlesbrough have an outstanding reputation for developing young talent, with David Wheater, Adam Johnson and Stewart Downing among many Premier League players to rise through the Boro Academy.
The latest graduate to break into the Premier League could well be Australian international Rhys Williams. A tough, tackling box-to-box midfielder with the ability to stop 'n attack moments before creating something at the other end, Williams has already drawn strong interest from Aston Villa this summer.
3. Rob Green (West Ham United)
3 of 5Rob Green will likely generate controversy for the remainder of his career. He committed an error that will define his career in the eyes of many fans during the World Cup and committed many errors as West Ham were relegated to the Championship.
However, the fact remains that Green is a quality goalkeeper with a lot of top level experience. Despite his error, he remains a part of the England setup and has drawn interest from Newcastle United.
2. Robert Snodgrass (Leeds United)
4 of 5Scottish international playmaker Robert Snodgrass is the driving force and creative spark behind Leeds United. Snodgrass has racked up the goals and assists and earned a reputation as one of the most talented players outside of the Premier League.
Snodgrass has been linked with numerous Premier League outfits over the summer and will be in the Premier League sometime soon with or without Leeds United.
1. Scott Parker (West Ham United)
5 of 5English international Parker moving across London to White Hart Lane seems one of the safest bets of the transfer window. It will be a vitally important move for Tottenham, especially if they lose Luka Modric.
Parker shot to fame as a child in some famous McDonalds commercials, and has carved out a reputation as a tough tackling ball player in England's top league for some time. It is a safe bet that not only will he move to the Premier League on deadline day, he will succeed wherever he goes.
