Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Gotze Content, Mertesacker Medical, and Park Signed
Arsenal fans will be delighted to hear that their club has picked itself up after Sunday's embarrassment. The Gunners have upped the ante in the past 24 hours or so in the transfer window.
The London club has fixated their eyes on the Bundesliga.
Arsene Wenger has reached out to the 19-year-old Mario Gotze of Borussia Dortsmund. The German international helped his club win the German league last season and has impressed thus far at his young age.

According to Goal.com, Gotze's value lies somewhere between £25-£30 million. However, the lad's agent has squashed any authenticity to the rumours in stating, "Mario will stay at Dortmund, for sure, the next two years. There is no chance of him going to another club this window"
Talks with the other German target for the North Londoners has progressed in recent hours. Per Mertesacker reportedly will undergo a medical this afternoon, according to Sky Sports News.
The Gunners are expected to shell out roughly £8.8m. The 26-year-old defender will help alleviate one of the myriad problems within the spine of the squad. Arsenal fans can take solace in the fact that the 8-2 drubbing handed out Sunday may have lit a fire under the arse of Arsene.
Joachim Low has also confirmed the reports with a statement ahead of the international Interlull:
"Very late yesterday evening, Per Mertesacker gave me information that there has been a serious offer coming in for his services... Therefore, I have allowed Per Mertesacker to be absent from training and our camp for today. We are expecting him back for Wednesday's training session."
After the surprise swoop made by Wenger over the weekend, Arsenal look to finalize their deal with Chu-Young Park. The Monaco AS forward will bring technical ability, maturity, and depth into a squad that badly needs all three.
Although Park has only played three seasons of European club football, the South Korean has already earned the captains armband for his country.
The 26-year-old forward will bring size and depth as he backs up the Arsenal skipper Robin Van Persie. Wenger clearly has recognized not only a need for talent and quality, but experience and leadership as well.
According to Arsenal.com, the forward will don the No. 9 shirt at the Emirates.
