A Michael Higdon goal in the 37th minute was enough to see Falkirk manager John Hughes' side climb up to eighth in the SPL table.
Hamilton Academical 1-2 Celtic
Celtic maintained their four point gap at the top of the SPL after going behind to the Accies.
Richard Offiong powered the ball home to give the home side the lead in the 13th minute.
However, the Billy Reid's Hamilton side could not hang on against the league leaders as they suffered a double blow in the 38th minute. Shunsuke Nakamura equalised for Celtic after Martin Canning got himself sent off for bringing down Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan in the box.
Four minutes from time any hope Hamilton had of getting anything from this game was gone, as Paul Hartley fired home the winner for Celtic, keeping Hamilton still at the bottom of the table.
Hibernian 2-2 Aberdeen
Without a win in five games, Hibernian snatched a dramatic late equaliser at Easter Road to deny the away side all three points.
Aberdeen took the lead with only five minutes gone, when Darren Mackie headed the visitors ahead. And the Dons made it 2-0 when Alexander Diamond scored on 53 minutes.
Robert Jones pulled a goal back for Hibs on 62 minutes, before star striker Steven Fletcher scored the equaliser for the home side on 90 minutes, denying Aberdeen a deserved three points.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0-1 Hearts
Hearts moved ahead of Dundee United and up to third in the SPL table after securing their third win in a row away to Inverness.
Portuguese midfielder Bruno Aguiar scored the crucial goal for Hearts, putting Hearts in-front after 22 minutes. Inverness could not respond and therefore remain 10th in the SPL table.
Kilmarnock 2-0 Dundee United
Kilmarnock ended a run of four successive defeats as they saw off high-flying Dundee United at Rugby Park.
Jamie Hamill scored from the penalty spot for Killie on the stroke of half-time and David Fernandez added a second after 61 minutes.
United, unbeaten in their previous eight league games, were not able to bounce back in the final half hour.
Rangers 2-1 St. Mirren
Rangers came into the match four points behind Celtic, who face Hamilton on Sunday, following their goalless draw with Motherwell in midweek.
It took them just five minutes to break the deadlock against St. Mirren as Kris Boyd struck, and Steven Davis then made it 2-0 in the 10th minute.
St. Mirren battled hard to ensure there was no further damage and set up a tense finale when Franco Miranda netted nine minutes from time.
