Arsenal Transfer Rumours: 5 Creative Midfielders Arsene Wenger Should Consider
Arsenal's midfield is falling apart. Right now, they are forced to play with players who wouldn't normally start on a big team like Arsenal: Tomas Rosicky, Emmanuel Frimpong and others. However, this is the result of one major transfer, and one that is probably going to go through.
Cesc Fabregas is gone, and has been for over a week.
After having returned to his hometown club of Barcelona, he finally seems happy with where he is. When he was a kid, Fabregas trained at La Masia, Barcelona's youth academy and made friends with other great players, such as Gerard Pique, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and others.
Now, Samir Nasri is also on the verge of leaving Arsenal, as he is interested in a transfer to the Eastlands, where he can team up with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli, Yaya Toure, Gael Clichy and others.
The reasons for this transfer are the following:
First of all, Manchester City can more than double his wages per week, and who wouldn't want 90,000 extra pounds? Also, Nasri wants trophies, and City have a greater chance of winning them than Arsenal, who are currently in crisis.
Because of these losses, Arsene Wenger must replace arguably the Gunners' two best players, and he must do so fast, given how badly Arsenal started off the season.
Here are five players whom he could possibly transfer to the Emirates.
Adel Taarabt
1 of 6Age: 22
Nationality: Morroccan
Current Club: Queens Park Rangers
Approximate Transfer Fee: ₤12-17 million
Why He Could Play for Arsenal: This guy would be a great signing for the Gunners. Since Taarabt plays for QPR, who aren't a great club, he would want to upgrade to a much bigger club, such as Arsenal.
Taarabt is extremely fast and can play on the wing, but he can also sometimes play in the middle. He is excellent at creating something out of nothing, even when he has multiple defenders on him. True, this was in comparison to the Championship, not the EPL, but if you've seen the Moroccan international play, you would be impressed.
Theo Walcott is Arsenal's best winger right now, but speed is his only advantage, as his touch and his final ball arent't good at all. Taarabt could replace him, since he's got pretty much the whole package speed, a great shot, good vision, excellent dribbling skills and other qualities.
Since he's young, he probably won't be an immediate improvement for Arsenal, but he's highly touted to become a fantastic player in a few years.
He would add to the wealth of talent that the Gunners already have among youngsters.
Eden Hazard
2 of 6Age: 20
Nationality: Belgian
Current Club: OSC Lille
Approximate Transfer Fee: ₤16-22 million
Why He Could Play for Arsenal: Eden Hazard is also expected to become an excellent player in a few years.
The youngster just won the Ligue 1 with OSC Lille, playing with very good players, such as Gervinho, Adil Rami and Yohan Cabaye. Therefore, Hazard will almost surely want more from his career as a footballer. The chances are that he will want to move to a more prestigious league, and Arsenal is his perfect chance to do so, as they are in the top six teams in the Barclays Premier League.
Hazard is a very quick player, and he is always able to make a play, whether it's running down the side of the pitch for a cross or setting up a through ball for his teammate to score on.
This quality is something that Arsenal need, given that Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas were the two best players at doing so. Nasri's ability to dribble past defenders was very uncanny, as was Fabregas' vision.
Like Taarabt, Hazard's peak would probably come in a few years, but he is spoken of so often that you know he can't be too bad.
Scott Parker
3 of 6Age: 30
Nationality: English
Current Club: West Ham United
Approximate Transfer Fee: ₤8-12 million
Why He Could Play for Arsenal: Here is another man perfect for Arsenal's creative midfielder.
Last year, he won the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year due to his excellent performance for West Ham. He was so good last year that he won this award despite the fact that his team, the Hammers, were relegated to the Championship.
Parker is less of a winger than a central midfielder. He's not the fastest of players, but he is very good at seeing runs that his teammates are about to make and executing a good ball to where they want it.
The Englishman also has a fantastic strike, and this quality of his was highlighted by a wonder goal that he scored against Chelsea. It just showed how great his technique is, and how calm he can be in front of goal.
It's true that Scott Parker is old, but he easily has two years left in him. Also, he's priced very cheaply, because he is better than ₤8 million.
Wesley Sneijder
4 of 6Age: 26
Nationality: Dutch
Current Club: Inter Milan
Approximate Transfer Fee: ₤35-45 million
Why He Could Play for Arsenal: Sneijder is unarguably one of the best midfielders in the world today.
He played a major role in Holland's run to the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa, where they ended up losing 1-0 to Spain. He was tied with David Villa, Diego Forlan and Thomas Mueller for the most goals scored during the entire tournament.
Sneijder is one of the best free-kick takers in the world; he has great technique with his shots and doesn't get nervous and blast it over the goal.
He is also a great passer and dribbler, as well as being an unselfish player. He is a major factor in Internazionale's success in the Serie A, as he forms one of the best midfield-striker partnerships with Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o.
Though he is expensive, Sneijder is a player who is worth that much money, and even though Wenger may have to may more than he normally likes to, it will pay off.
He would be great teaming up with compatriot Robin van Persie in particular.

Kaka
5 of 6Age: 29
Nationality: Brazilian
Current Club: Real Madrid
Approximate Transfer Fee: ₤45-65 million
Why He Could Play for Arsenal: Before his move to Real Madrid, Kaka was considered the third best player in the world, after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
However, when he moved to Madrid in a ₤59 million move, the Brazilian superstar started to see less and less playing time. With Los Blancos, who have overwhelming depth in the midfield—with players such as Ronaldo, Mesut Ozil, Xabi Alonso and Angel Di Maria—Kaka's position was already taken, and therefore he found himself on the pitch much less.
Kaka is one of the world's best shooters right now, as he too has great technique, power and precision, but that's not all he can do. He can set his teammates up for goals very well and is also capable of dribbling past many players.
Kaka's unique talent is being wasted on the Jose Mourinho's bench. Though it's true that he was injured for a while, even when he was fit, he saw much less playing time than he would have expected.
Because of this, he needs to move for his own benefit, and he would be good at filling the gap left by Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.
Though it would stretch Arsene Wenger's wallet a little bit, it's the same case as with Sneijder: Kaka is worth the money.
Conclusion
6 of 6Which of these guys should Arsene Wenger buy?
If we're talking about spending as little money for the most possible quality, I think the best option there would be Scott Parker, who, in my opinion, is massively underpriced.
Hazard and Taarabt, both touted to be fantastic players in the future, are viable, but they can't really solve an immediate problem for the Gunners, as they are both extremely young.
And as I said before, even though Wesley Sneijder and Kaka might be a little bit expensive, all the money that Arsenal get to sell Fabregas and Nasri could be used toward one of them. (It also doesn't rule out the possibility of buying a central defender.)
Maybe Arsene Wenger can get two out of these five players, either Taarabt and Hazard, and one among Parker, Sneijder and Kaka. It's all up to Le Professeur.
Let's see what he does.
