Italy Beat Spain, Germany Beat Brazil: International Friendlies
For the first time since 1994 Italy has beaten Spain in a tight affair at the San Nicola. Meanwhile Brazil continued their poor run of form, losing to Germany.
Giuseppe Rossi had talked up Italy's chances of defeating Spain in the International Friendly. Italy came out firing, taking the lead through Montolivio in the 11th minute. Their joy was short-lived though, as Italy gave Spain the chance to score from the penalty spot.
Xabi Alonso made no mistake slotting home the equalizer. Things looked to be heading for a draw, when in the 84th minute Alberto Aquilani's deflected effort found its way into the back of the net. The Liverpool man had scored and Italy was victorious.

In Germany, Brazil never really challenged the Germans who ran out 3-2 winners. The Bundesliga had already kicked off in Germany and a number of German Internationals had already had some solid playing time under their belt. It showed, as Schweinsteiger scored from the spot and Mario Gotze rounded the keeper to knock in a goal.
Brazil looked to be getting into a rhythm as Robinho slotted in a penalty, but a late German goal saw the scoreline read 2-1. In the late minutes of injury time Neymar grabbed one back, giving Brazil the slenderest of hopes.
Positive signs for the Germans early on.
