The United States Men's National Team emerged victorious in another friendly match on Tuesday, defeating Canada by the final score of 1-0 at Allianz Field.

Justin Ellis' goal in the 29th minute proved to be the difference in the contest as the USMNT wrapped up their international window.

The clash between the two CONCACAF rivals featured plenty of early physicality, as Canada recorded 10 fouls within the first 25 minutes of action.

One of the fouls came against Ellis, who briefly received medical attention and stayed in the game to give the U.S. squad a 1-0 edge.

The goal didn't stop the hard-fought battle, as Canada's Tani Oluwaseyi and USA's Gio Reyna both picked up yellow cards before the first half came to a close.

The Canadian team took an aggressive approach to start the second half, but couldn't find an equalizer against the United States' defense.

Canada came close to tying the score at 1-1 in the 63rd minute, although a short-range shot from Luc de Fougerolles hit the crossbar.

Canada was able to maintain possession in the United States' half for the majority of the final 45 minutes of play, but ultimately came away empty-handed.

The Canadians finished with seven shots in the shutout defeat, while USMNT goalkeeper Brian Schwake recorded three saves.

With the United States' international slate now in the rearview mirror, the team will eventually be back in action for the quarterfinal round of the CONCACAF Nations League. The USMNT will host the second leg of the quarterfinal series on Nov. 17, while the first leg will be played on the road on Nov. 14.
