AC Milan Transfer News: Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Ganso and All the Latest
Zlatan Ibrahimovic will end his career playing with AC Milan.
The 29-year-old Swede was bought from Barcelona after last season's successful loan spell, which saw him score 14 goals and record 11 assists in a Scudetto-winning campaign for the Rossoneri.
Ibracadabra, as he is often called, seems happier than he has been in a long time. His great career has brought him through Malmo FF, Ajax Amsterdam, and Milan's main rivals Juventus and Inter Milan before one year at Barcelona and now Milan.

Ibrahimovic has won eight league titles with five teams in the last eight seasons, including the titles that were stripped from Juventus after Calciopoli. There is still one major trophy that has eluded him. He hopes that within what he believes will be his last contract, which runs until 2015, he will conquer the UEFA Champions League.
According to Tuttosport, Ibrahimovic has the rest of his career planned out:
""I want to continue playing for two or three more seasons and want to win every possible trophy while wearing the jersey of Milan. I will hang up my boots once I've met all these objectives and my contract with Milan expires."
"
If Milan are to win the Champions League, they will need not only another midfielder, who still has yet to arrive this summer, but they will need more goalscoring from their main striker, according to vice-captain Gennaro Gattuso.
According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Gattuso made this critical observation of his teammate:
""Someone like Ibra in Italy should score 30 goals a season. For a player of his quality, he scores too little."
"
So far so good for Ibrahimovic this year. He has scored several times in the preseason and netted the equalizer against his old club Inter Milan before Kevin-Prince Boateng put Milan up for good in the 2011 Italian Super Cup Final last Saturday in Beijing. He is expected to be one of the top goalscorers in Serie A this season.
Another player who has pledged his long-term allegiance to AC Milan is Brazilian defender Thiago Silva.
In his two seasons at AC Milan, Thiago Silva has become one of the top center backs in the world, up there in the discussion with the likes of Nemanja Vidic.
His play at Milan since he joined from Fluminense in 2009 has been top notch. He was widely considered the player of the year for Milan in their Scudetto-winning campaign in 2010-11.
After his fantastic season, he earned the attention of giants FC Barcelona, who reportedly were very interested in the 26-year-old.
Of course, it is a big deal for a player to be courted by a club like Barcelona and it is very hard to resist them. Lets face it, they are the best team in the world. However, Silva refuses to bite.
When talking to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Silva, who is under contract at Milan until 2016 as of a couple months ago, has made it known that he plans on honoring his contract at the least.
"“When you win the league and playing well, it is normal that other teams come after you. But I’m happy here, I’m happy, I have a contract until 2016 and I’m here. After that we shall see, in football you never know what can happen... I am in the best period of my career, with a coach who has been here a year and has already won 2 trophies."
"
Any speculation that comes in that time about the future of Silva is likely just media-created gossip.
As for the continuing preparations of the club for this upcoming season, there are still moves to be made.
While Ganso is pretty much out of the question in the coming weeks, the continuing speculation about either Liverpool's Alberto Aquilani or Fiorentina's Riccardo Montolivo continues to be very unclear and reports are all over the place.
Milan have made it clear that they plan on signing a midfielder this summer, with Aquilani and Montolivo considered the two favorites to land at the San Siro. Other names like Kaka, Cesc Fabregas, and Bastian Schweinsteiger have been deemed out of the question.
In terms of current players, Antonio Cassano's future remains in doubt at Milan. Today's reports reveal that he has turned down moves to Olympique Marseille and VfL Wolfsburg. He could still be on the move to either Fiorentina or Genoa in order to retain his spot in Cesare Prandelli's plans ahead of Euro 2012.
Also being revealed today, according to Milan fan-site Rossoneri Blog, Alberto Paloschi will likely be joining Chievo Verona on loan within the next day.
