College Football Recruiting: Catching Up with 2013 Michigan Commit Shane Morris
The IMG Madden 7-on-7 Championships featured some of the best high school football players from around the country. Co-MVP of the tournament was 2013 quarterback Shane Morris from Detroit, Michigan.
Morris was clearly the best quarterback throughout the weekend and displayed maturity on the field, even as an upcoming junior.
Although he has almost two years left to decide his future in college football, Morris has already committed to his childhood favorite Michigan Wolverines.
"I'm 100 percent committed to Michigan," Morris said. "I'm not going to check out any other schools."
Growing up in the state of Michigan his entire life, Morris has always viewed Michigan as the premier destination for college football.
"It was just a dream to play at Michigan since I was a kid," he said. "When they offered me, I was ecstatic and it was just a huge honor for me."
When Morris visited Michigan, it did not take long for Brady Hoke and the new coaching staff to make quite an impression on him.
"The whole coaching staff is just awesome," Morris said. "You can tell by the kids they are getting for their 2012 class. They haven't even been there a year and they are doing just an awesome job."
Morris also finds himself drawn to the electric atmosphere at Michigan Stadium and the rabid fans in Ann Arbor.
Not to mention, he wants to follow in the footsteps of one of his most revered athletes.
"I've always looked up to Tom Brady," he said. "He has always been one of my favorite players."
Let's hope that Morris will duplicate the success that Brady had at Michigan and even all the way into pro football.
