Arsenal FC Transfer Rumors: 5 Gunners Who Could Be on Their Way Out

Tim KeeneyJun 7, 2011

If Arsenal wants to avoid seeing this season's meltdown happen again, they need to concentrate on making sure several key players don't leave town.

After taking only 12 points from their final 11 Premier League matches, Arsenal finished a disappointing fourth place this season.

Sure, having their eye set on some new targets is essential, but Arsene Wenger might just need to focus on his current squad first.

Here are five players whose odds of leaving the Emirates have increased over the last few weeks, with a few of them being key for a title run next season.

Denilson

The Brazilian midfielder was used less and less, and it appears that his time with Arsenal is over.

According to ESPN, the 23-year-old has had enough of his time at the Emirates and is ready to move on. Denilson, who has been with Arsenal for five years, wants to win titles, and he doesn't think that will happen with the Gunners.

He has told Arsene Wenger that he wants to move on, and his hope is that he gets picked up by a club in the Champions League.

With the lack of time that Denilson received this season, it is clear that he is probably on his way out of town.

Chance He Leaves: 80 percent

Nicklas Bendtner

Nicklas Bendtner recently said he is 100 percent positive that he won't return to Arsenal next season. That's a pretty good sign.

The Danish international was used sparingly off the bench last season, and it seems that the 23-year-old wasn't too happy about that.

Sevilla, AC Milan and Bayern have been linked to Bendtner recently, and it would probably be smart for Arsenal to let him go, as the price tag is apparently as high as £12 million.

Chance He Leaves: 95 percent

Andrei Arshavin

The 30-year-old Russian international has been a hot transfer topic ever since the January transfer window opened up.

Zenit St. Petersburg is reportedly interested in signing the midfielder, but Arshavin recently stated that Wenger has no intention of selling him.

While this may put a hush to the Arshavin transfer rumors for the moment, the midfielder has struggled to find his form recently, and I wouldn't be surprised if the speculation sparked back up at any time.

Chance He Leaves: 25 percent

The speculation regarding the 23-year-old French attacking midfielder has really heightened as of late.

Nasri, who is being hotly pursued by Manchester United, has stated that he doesn't want to re-sign with Arsenal until they bring in more weapons. He wants to know Arsene Wenger is serious about contending for a title, and more importantly, he wants money that is more in the Cesc Fabregas range.

Nasri has an extremely bright future, but it is becoming questionable whether it will be with Arsenal or not, and even Theo Walcott believes Nasri will leave.

It's really up in the air right now.

Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas transfer rumors were the talk of the summer last year, and they have returned to that level again this year.

The 24-year-old is being hotly pursued by his hometown club Barcelona.

With reports that Barcelona is willing to include young talented midfielder Thiago Alcantara to sweeten the deal, Arsenal may be more willing to give up their star.

Whatever the final decision ends up being, I hightly doubt that the Fabregas talk will die down any time soon.
