Dallas Cowboys Trade Speculation: Which Marquee Players Should Dallas Consider
Last season the Cowboys were a couple of players and a few plays short of making another run at a Super Bowl. Wide receiver Dez Bryant brought a spark and explosion to an already potent offense and DeMarcus Ware again led the league in sacks.
So with all of the talent the ‘Boys have, why are we still discussing the possibility of Dallas making it back to the NFL’s version of the promised land?
Well, maybe because talent doesn’t win championships, just ask Redskins owner Daniel Snyder.
But at the end of the day it sure does help. Without Tony Romo, Felix Jones, Miles Austin and the rest of the Cowboy crew, we may be talking about a complete rebuilding project.
Since we aren’t, lets discuss what’s actually missing from the Cowboys roster.
Here are six players team owner Jerry Jones should consider trading for before the season starts.
Aqib Talib, CB, Tampa Bay Bucs
1 of 6
Listen, if we’re going to go for a blue sky list, why not add Talib to the fold? He’s in major trouble with the law and possibly the NFL. The Bucs are growing tired of his act and may be willing to part ways with the troubled cornerback.
Dallas struggled in that department last season, and with Terrance Newman starting to age, I think Aqib would be a great fit to replace Terrance.
Only problem with this is, who will take Talib to the side to make sure he doesn’t mess up again? I don’t believe that Dallas has the right locker room leadership to lay the hammer down on Aqib.
Chris Hope, FS, Tennessee Titans

Hope is starting to age and he’s moving close to the end of his contract with the Titans.
Last season Hope recorded over 100 tackles and one pick with his biggest statistical game coming against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The report on Hope is that he doesn’t scare quarterbacks enough and last year may have been the season where he started to decline.
Still, it’s not like the ‘Boys have better options, do they? He has one year left on his contract in Tennessee and may come cheap.
Quentin Jammer, CB, San Diego Chargers
3 of 6
I know, I know—Jammer is getting older and he’s never been considered an elite cornerback. He’s owed for than $7 million dollars on the last two years on his contract as he’ll be a free agent in the year 2013.
But Jammer isn’t flashy and would bring steady play to the ‘Boys' defensive backfield.
He’s never had more than four interceptions in a season, but he’ll sure defend more than a few passes for you.
Fred Robbins, DT, St. Louis Rams
4 of 6
Robbins is a 325 pound, 12-year NFL veteran. If the plan is to really move Ratliff to defensive end, then adding Robbins will only give the Cowboys needed depth.
He’s big, obviously, can stuff the run and provide some room for Ratliff to create.
Darryl Tapp, LB, Philadelphia

I like that Tapp is young and still has a lot of potential. He still has a few years left on his contract and he was just traded to the Eagles last year.
But Dallas still needs assistance on defense and depth on both sides of the ball, and adding a guy like Tapp would be both cheap and a huge win for Jerry’s squad.
Brian Dawkins, S, Denver Broncos
6 of 6
This one won’t happen and I know that B Dawks' skills are starting to erode. He has a monster contract with three years remaining.
But man can Dallas use his leadership.
This may be a wild statement, but I’m willing to bet that if the ‘Boys had Dawkins, he would bring so much leadership to that team that a Super Bowl would most definitely be in their future.
He’ just that good on and off the field. Ask the Eagles how important he was to their locker room.
