Three Things I Dislike About My Club: Liverpool
In response to a recent idea for an article, I have decided to write about my club and what I dislike about them.
Firstly, this is not an article simply for me to complain and start a hate campaign and these are not things that keep me awake at night, they are just some observations of my club I do not agree with.
To an extent I will support my club, its players and the manager no matter what, but as is the case with most supporters of every club worldwide, there is going to be aspects that I do not agree with.

I believe the idea behind the article is to highlight some of the things that may not be known by fans of other clubs as well as some things that are not usually in the media.
Hopefully this can give rival fans something in common to discuss instead of the usual hate attitude that is in place with most supporters.
1. The Board
I think number one for me, and quite possibly most Liverpool supporters, would be the board that is currently in place.
For whatever reason it might be, I believe Rick Parry has failed to take this club forward enough to be able to compete against the other big clubs.
Liverpool is by far one of the biggest clubs in the world and has an incredibly large fan base, but unfortunately the commercial side of the club has not been utilised in a proper way.
The most glaringly obvious mistake would be the building of a new stadium which has been discussed for close to ten years, but is still no closer to being built.
Another issue is apparently the lack of major sponsors involved with the club, there is certainly potential to add more to the list, in turn increasing revenue, but the commercial side of the business as a whole is considerably under achieving at the moment—especially in terms of merchandising to a wider foreign market.
Rick Parry has also shown in the past his inability to close transfer deals quickly and effectively which has lead to major missed opportunities for signing very good players.
He has also refused to fund transfers because he has believed the manager to be wrong in his player targets, which has meant missing out on huge players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Villa, Daniel Alves, as well as other players who have gone on to be ten times as expensive as the fee refused by Parry in the first place.
2. The History
Now Liverpool Football Club is one of the most successful clubs in England and in Europe, there is no denying that.
What does annoy me most are the supporters who use this history as a way of adding unnecessary pressure to the team and the manager.
They expect the club to win everything that is available simply because of our illustrious history.
Times have changed considerably since Liverpool as a club was a dominant force, and unfortunately Liverpool as a team have been far from consistently competitive for a very long time.
The team of today are expected to fill the shoes of the team's of the seventies and eighties and if they under-perform, even in the slightest, they are hung, drawn and quartered without supporters looking at the bigger picture.
The squad has been in the process of a massive rebuilding program over the last four years, which takes time and patience.
Unfortunately some supporters cannot see this and instead just look at other club's achievements and believe because of our past success we should be winning everything every year.
They also fail to see that in the last 15 years, three other clubs have considerably stepped up their game and overtaken Liverpool as the superior clubs in regard to on the field success.
3. The Spice Boys
As you can guess I am struggling to find anything else to complain about.
So I will have to complain, as well as hang my head in shame, about the suits worn by the team at the 1996 FA Cup final.
They looked bad, they were bad, and despite the constant rotation of fashion trends, they are still bad.
That incident was defiantly a considerable low point in the great history of Liverpool Football Club.
