ACC Football: Who Will Win the Conference in 2011?

ACC football looks to make another step toward being considered among the top BCS football conferences.

There is work to do at the bottom as Duke and Wake Forest will continue to under perform, but look for Virginia to take a small step forward in the second year of Mike London’s regime as head coach.

The top of the ACC should be strong this year with Miami, Florida State, Virginia Tech and Clemson battling it out for the top spot in the conference at the end of the season.

Here are some other ACC football facts to keep in mind:

• In 2010 the ACC produced nine bowl teams.
• Virginia Tech, Florida State, Maryland and N.C. State all finished in the top 25 when the final AP football poll was released.
• The ACC is second to only the SEC in the number of first round picks in the NFL draft.
