Euro 2012: Ranking the Best Players from Top 5 Nations at the Qualifiers

This Euro 2012 qualification campaign has seen some impressive performances thus far, even a couple of upsets and new gems emerging from the rubble of unsuccessful World Cup campaigns.  

There have been dazzling performances, tricky wingers and 5-0 thrashings! Without further ado, let us review the standout performer from the top five countries so far in qualifying.

Spain: Andres Iniesta

San Andres has been the standout performer for Spain so far.

Using his dribbling and passing skills (which are phenomenal) alongside playmaker Xavi, he has been able to provide a lot of assists for David Villa and Fernando Torres, as well as stand-in Fernando Llorente.

Netherlands: Wesley Sneijder

Wesley Sneijder is one of the best attacking midfielders today. He is a great passer but also has an eye for goal, shown by the five goals he had in the last World Cup.

He has impressed so far at the qualifiers, assisting and scoring abundantly.

The Polish-German veteran is reknowned for his scoring record, especially on the World Cup stage. He has lit up the qualifying stage so far, scoring eight goals.

He has definitely been the standout performer for the Germans thus far.

England: Ashley Young

Ashley Young makes things happen. In almost every match he has participated in for England, he has had a claim to the man of match award.

Recently, he inspired a largely lackluster England side to a comeback against Switzerland at Wembley, from being two goals down.

Portugal: Cristiano Ronaldo

Is this a surprise? Portugal's most talented player and (arguably) the world's best player.

With his man of the match performances against Cyprus and Denmark, he deserves the accolade of being Portugal's standout player.
