World Football 2011: The Jack Wilshere Lesson
A player described as having "a Spanish technique certainly. He has an English heart because he's an English boy" said Arsene Wenger to the press following the 19-year-old's performance against Barcelona.
Jack Wilshere has taken the Premier League by storm this season as he continues to impress, and now has made a name in the football world. Wilshere confidently and coolly side stepped the magnificent duo that is Xavi and Iniesta in last week's Champion's League win over Barcelona.
Now everybody is taking notice, but something intruging has struck me....I call it "The Jack Wilshere lesson."

In the week that Arsenal and Barcelona fight over another youngster, and following the FA's restructure of youth football, there is something interesting about the phrase "a Spanish technique with an English heart".
So many discussions occur about the lack of development of youth players in the England set-up and clubs in England are being blamed for having too many foreign stars in their team.
So why not send players to learn their trade abroad? Why not nurture some future English prodigy at Spanish clubs such as Barcelona and Real Madrid?
Players learning the Spanish way, which is very much intricate and passing with movement in tight spaces, will be a gold ticket to improving anyone's technical ability. English players will always have the England attitude. Football is like another religion in England. Youngsters love the game so much and are very passionate, instead of moaning about the lack of talent, the FA should help improve their development by sending them abroad. I see nothing wrong in this learning process.
However, the new FA youth structure of football play will be a triumphant one. Instead of playing on a full size pitch, youngsters should play on smaller pitches. This way, the passing and movement will improve tremendously. They will have to think quicker and play the ball on the floor quickly too. This is massive for their development.
The old way was "hoofing" the ball up field and chasing it...but the new way is the Jack Wilshere way...and England is heading in that direction.
