Arsenal FC: Arsene Wenger Believes Gunners Can Win Quadruple: Can They Really?

Mike GoncalvesFeb 19, 2011

After Arsenal's very well-deserved, mid-week victory over Barcelona, one of the greatest teams in World Football history, it is more than deserved that Arsenal fans and players are enjoying the success. Going into the Champions League match against Barcelona, not many people imagined Arsenal would have the slightest of chances, and they came out and proved many people wrong.

Although Arsenal confirmed a 2-1 victory over Barcelona, they still need to go to the Camp Nou and at least draw to move on to the next round. It will not be very easy, but it can be done.

The Gunners will now have to face Leyton Orient in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Sunday. What Arsenal can we all expect? I would imagine an Arsenal squad motivated more than ever.

A team that has been criticized for lacking that killer instinct and ability to win tight games may now have won back a few of those critics.

Arsenal is only four points back from first place Manchester United in the EPL title race. They will also play Birmingham City later this month for the Carling Cup final, which could be Arsenal's first piece of silverware since 2005.

When asked about it, Wenger said: "We want to go far in all competitions, I've said that many times, how far can we go? I personally believe we can go very deep in each competition we play, to the end. It's just down to how much we believe and how much commitment we show.

"I am convinced we have the hunger and we have some talent. They are all committed to doing well for this football club."

After such a crucial and motivating victory on Wednesday night, many doubters may very well have turned into believers. Could Arsenal realistically compete for all four competitions?
