
English Premier League Power Rankings: Week 24
In an exciting week in the Premier League, 43 goals were scored in matches that included two great comebacks and a season-long streak coming to an end.
Newcastle came from four goals down to draw with Arsenal, while Everton overcame a 3-2 deficit to win 5-3 over Blackpool.
The most striking result of the weekend was the 2-1 upset by Wolves over previously undefeated Manchester United.
20. West Brom (17)

West Brom suffered a thrashing from Carlos Tevez and Manchester City on Saturday to drop the club down to 17th in the table.
After the loss, the Baggies sacked manager Roberto di Matteo after losing 13 of their last 18 games.
Michael Appleton has taken control at The Hawthorns for the time being as they head into a relegation battle with West Ham at home.
19. Blackpool (19)

Blackpool played a crazy game at Goodison Park against Everton on Saturday, where the Seasiders were up 3-2 with 25 minutes left and ended up losing 5-3 to their opponents.
The three Blackpool goals came from Alex Baptiste, Jason Puncheon and Charlie Adam, but the defense could not stop Louis Saha and the Everton attack on Saturday.
The fifth straight loss for the Seasiders dropped the club down to 15th place on 28 points.

West Ham dropped back down to the bottom of the table with their 1-0 loss to Birmingham.
The Hammers face a big relegation battle on Saturday as they travel to The Hawthorns to face West Brom.
17. Blackburn (13)

Blackburn lost their third game in four as they failed to mount a complete comeback against Wigan in a 4-3 loss.
Jason Roberts, Chris Samba and David Dunn scored for Rovers as they attempted to come back from two goals down twice, but were a goal short in the end.
Next up for the 11th placed club is a visit from Newcastle at Ewood Park on Saturday.
16. Wigan (18)

Wigan gained three points and moved closer to escaping the drop zone with their 4-3 win over Blackburn.
James McCarthy netted two goals and Hugo Rodallega and Ben Watson both scored a goal a piece in the win at home on Saturday.
The Latics take their two game unbeaten streak to Anfield on Saturday to face Liverpool.
15. Wolverhampton (20)

George Elokobi and Kevin Doyle scored for Wolves in their comeback 2-1 win over Manchester United at home on Saturday, breaking United's unbeaten run.
The win broke a three game losing streak by Wolves, and they will look to get a win streak together if they can get past Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.

Bolton gave up a late goal to Tottenham on Saturday and gave Bolton their ninth loss of the season.
One bright spot for Owen Coyle's club is Daniel Sturridge, who scored his second goal in two games with the club after being loaned from Chelsea.
Bolton play in a crucial middle-of-the-table match as they host Everton on Sunday at the Reebok Stadium.
13. Sunderland (8)

Sunderland could not hold on to a one goal lead in the second half against Stoke and instead lost by a goal at the Brittania Stadium.
The Black Cats are now down to seventh place in the table and will face a challenge getting further up the table to fight for a Europa League spot due to the newly resurgent Liverpool team.
Steve Bruce and company look to rebound from their two straight losses as they host Tottenham at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
12. Aston Villa (14)

Villa could not hold to a 2-1 lead at home on Saturday and ended up in a 2-2 draw with Fulham.
Kyle Walker, one of the newest of members of Fabio Capello's England squad, scored again for the Villains in the 72nd minute.
The 14th placed Villains will travel to Bloomfield Road on Saturday to face Blackpool.
11. Newcastle (15)

Newcastle provided Premier League fans with one of the most thrilling comebacks in recent memory as they came back from four goals down with 25 minutes to go to draw Arsenal.
Joey Barton's two controversial penalties, along with goals from Leon Best and the equalizer from Chiek Tiote in the 87th minute, gave the fans at St. James' Park a reason to cheer their club.
Sitting 10th in the table, the Magpies will travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn on Saturday.
10. Birmingham (12)

Nikola Zigic's 65th minute goal took down West Ham and gave the Blues a 1-0 win on Sunday.
The win boosted Alex McLeish's club up to 16th in the table and will take their two game unbeaten streak into their home match against Stoke on Saturday.

A surprising double from Robert Huth in the last 10 minutes gave the Potters a 3-2 comeback win over Sunderland on Saturday.
Huth scored in the 83rd and 90th minutes to add to John Carew's first Stoke goal in the 32nd minute.
Stoke will travel to St. Andrews' Stadium on Saturday when they face Birmingham.
8. Everton (9)

Louis Saha scored four goals in Everton's 5-3 comeback win over Blackpool on Saturday.
Down 3-2, Saha and Jermaine Beckford turned things around to give the Toffees their sixth win of the season.
Now up to 13th place in the table, the Toffees will travel to the Reebok Stadium to face Bolton on Sunday.

Fernando Torres' Stamford Bridge debut was the not the most successful for the Spainard and his new club.
Chelsea lost 1-0 to Torres' former club Liverpool, and the forward was ineffective throughout the match in which the Blues only managed one shot on goal.
6. Fulham (5)

Clint Dempsey's 10th goal of the season gave Fulham a 2-2 road draw against Aston Villa on Saturday.
Dempsey's goal followed Andy Johnson's 52nd minute strike to give the Cottagers the draw.
Mark Hughes' club have only lost two of their last seven games and are moving up the table into 12th right now heading into their London derby match at home against Chelsea on Monday.
5. Arsenal (2)

The Gunners started strong and finished flat on Saturday against Newcastle.
Theo Walcott and Johan Djourou scored goals as well as a double from Robin van Persie, all came in the first 26 minutes, but it was the last 26 minutes that will be remembered.
The Gunners gave up four goals to Newcastle in the last 26 minutes of the match at St. James' Park.
Arsenal starts a span where they will play three matches in three different competitions in eight days, starting with a home match with Wolves on Saturday.

Manchester United suffered a shock loss to end their unbeaten streak at Wolves on Saturday.
The 2-1 loss took down any hopes of the Red Devils trying to emulate Arsenal's Invicibles of 2004.
Sir Alex Ferguson's club will look to rebound from the loss in the Manchester derby on Saturday at Old Trafford.

While title rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal took the headlines in losing, Tottenham flew under the radar and won at the last minute at home against Bolton.
Niko Kranjcar scored Spurs' goal in the 90th minute to put the club into a tie with Chelsea for fourth place in the table on 44 points.
Spurs will travel to the Stadium of Light on Saturday to face Sunderland.
