Chelsea Football: Fernando Torres Is No Traitor, He's Just Ambitious
Well, many who follow my Manchester United blog on Bleacher Report will know very well I'm a passionate United fan, but that in no way has any bearing on this piece.
I'd just like to get my view across on this specific issue, which seems to be getting a little too dirty.

Not very long ago, almost every Liverpool fan cried out the praises of Torres, his abilities, his strengths and how he was going to get them back on top.
Now he decides that's enough, and he feels he needs to move on if he hopes to succeed in his career, and what happens?
He is a traitor—called "useless"—a player with no talents and no qualities?
Wow!
Well, many of those who understand the game—the football, the business and the emotions—would be able to see where I'm coming from in this argument.
Liverpool, although seemingly on the up, have lost massive momentum in the last two seasons. They have changed coaches several times and have new owners in place and a weak squad as a whole, well, before the recent signings.
So, fair enough, Torres feels his ambitions are not met. He's tried his level best and failed to archive his initial goals.
Chelsea are still in the hunt for the title—they have an opportunity in the Champions League and have a strong squad, although many are aging.
Yes, Torres did say his heart is at the club and that he is committed, but that's life. Business and success gets in the way, and when we least expect it, a bus will slam us down.
On the other hand, it was good money that Liverpool didn't want to loose out on, and in return, they were able to bring in two big players with big reputations, well Saurez proven, Caroll yet, too.
I'm not saying the Liverpool fans should sing praises of Torres, but burning of his shirt and the constant slander and hatred is a true disgrace to football.
When Ronaldo left United for an even bigger fee, I don't quite remember the United fans behaving the way many Liverpool fans did, and I can bet that if Ronaldo returns with Madrid to Old Trafford he will be welcomed.
That's no points to United or their fans, just points dropped by Liverpool fans—and not all, but those who have rebelled against a player who, while at Anfield, always gave them hope.
So let's not hate, and for those who feel the need to hate me after this piece, remember, I'm not hating on Liverpool, I'm just tired of the insults lashed out to a player for been a little ambitious... just £50 million worth of ambition.
