Manchester United: Are They Still Owned by the Glazers?
Can I first make it clear that I am not a Manchester United fan but I am a fan of football and as such I cannot abide the way a great footballing institution like Manchester United have been treated under the ownership of the Glazer family.
I am yet to meet a United supporter who thinks that the Glazers have been good for their club, perhaps they do exist but I doubt it.
I read with massive interest the excellent Andersred blog, which makes it clear that as things stand nobody can now be sure who owns Manchester United.

It seems almost unbelievable that such a position exists, after all United are one of the best known companies in the world and they are overseen by the English Premier League and UEFA.

But as it stands today (and for a while at least) nobody seems able to say if the Glazers do in fact still own the club, whether they own some of the club or even who the directors of the parent company are.
The intimation is that even the employees of Manchester United FC don't know who their bosses are either.
All of this of course stems from the shady way that the Glazers do business.
They appear not to care how they are personally perceived as long as they make lots of money, but as owners of an internationally respected football club and sporting icon they are now fully in the spotlight.
The spotlight and the Glazers are not easy bedfellows and so they have settled on hiding in the secret world of corporate anonymity offered by the US State of Delaware.
This move should send a shiver down the spines of not only United fans but those of other clubs whose owners don't like to be questioned.
Leeds United and Ken Bates for example are as bad, if not worse than the Glazers.
All of this should also concern all football fans as if nobody knows, or can find out who owns United then they could be owned by a company with other footballing interests.
Imagine the furore if we found out that United were owned by the company that controls, for example, Wolves. Wolves are a team that have in the past been accused of not trying to beat United.
The whole league needs to be assured that the owners of United are not only fit and proper but also publicly known.
