Floyd Mayweather: "I'm Gonna Fight the Pac Man When He Off the Power Pellets"
There was a time when boxing fans thought they were going to witness one of the greatest match-ups in history.
The boxing world was in silence like they were taking a math test. No one knew the eight-division king Manny Pacquiao would one day be a major threat to the five-division world champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Many fight fans, celebrities and even UFC fighters were stating their predictions on who would win if they ever stepped in the ring.
Predictions were interesting and silly, while others sounded pretty convincing—convincing enough for the fans to question their fighter's skill, strength and legacy.
The only problem is, the fight never took place.
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao to fans is like a kid who wants the best toy at Toys "R" Us. Unfortunately the fans didn't get that golden toy, so they showed their childish side and started playing the blaming game.
However, there's good news for those dreamers and believers.
The undefeated champ, Floyd Mayweather recently stated in a YouTube video, "Don't worry we're gonna beat Poochie-ao's ass. Stop asking the same question, 'When are you gonna fight Poochie-iao?' I'm gonna fight the Pac Man. Do me a favor...I'm gonna fight the Pacman when he off the power pellets."
Does this mean Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao could happen later in the year or early 2012?
No one exactly knows, but one thing for sure is that Mayweather-Pacquiao will go from fiction to non-fiction soon. Like Don King recently said, Mayweather-Pacquiao is inevitable; it's a fight that has to happen.
Hopefully both promoters, Don King and Bob Arum can make this dream come true, since they are the shooting star of boxing that everyone is relying on.
Another possible fight that Don King is willing to make reality is Devon Alexander-Mayweather if Alexander successfully defeats Timothy Bradley January 29. However, Mayweather has to accept the offer and that's one of Mayweather's choices according to Don King.
Hopefully Floyd Mayweather is back in action soon. He has already stated he will fight Manny Pacquiao, but the question is, when?
Although the majority of the boxing world can't answer that question, I believe Don King and Bob Arum have the power to answer it.
