2011 Under Armour Game: Power Ranking the Top 10 Offensive Playmakers
With the 2011 Under Armour All-American Game set to take place on Wednesday night, there is sure to be plenty of excitement throughout the game, as the best and brightest prep stars will be on the field all at the same time.
As with any football game, many fans want to see a heavy dose of touchdowns and offensive firepower to ignite the crowd and other observers. The offensive talent slated to play looks poised to provide that and then some. Let's take a look at the top 10 offensive playmakers scheduled to be on display.
10. Brett Hundley, QB, Chandler (AZ)
1 of 10
Committed to UCLA, Hundley has been compared to Redskins' QB Donovan McNabb many times throughout his high school career.
At 6-3, 210 pounds, Hundley has a cannon arm and is a terrific runner who can shake and bake you or just run you over. And remember, he's a quarterback, not a running back.
9. Marvin Shinn, WR, Vigor (AL)
2 of 10
When you're 6-3 and possess silky smooth athleticism, you're bound to be a playmaker, and Marvin Shinn is just that.
Shinn has long arms and an even longer stride, which allows him to get a jump on defensive backs and use his size to win jump balls. He'll be silky smooth in Tuscaloosa next year, as he's committed to Alabama.
8. Devon Blackmon, WR, Summit (CA)
3 of 10
A quarterback in high school, Blackman has shown up to UA game practices and dazzled as a wide receiver. There is nothing he can't do with the ball in his hands and his speed, quickness and change of direction ability makes him a potential touchdown machine.
Blackman is set to announce his college choice during the game.
7. Savon Huggins, RB, St. Peter's (NJ)
4 of 10
Huggins is a future every-down college running back. Period. He can play all three downs, attack holes going north and south and factor in the passing game.
A determined runner with solid speed, Huggins is being heavily recruited by UNC, Notre Dame and Rutgers, among others.
6. Jay Rome, TE, Valdosta (GA)
5 of 10
Rome is a matchup nightmare for defenses. He has soft hands, concentration and athleticism to go along with an awareness to find voids in zone coverages. He also has the bulk and strength to control defenders as a blocker.
Red team safeties Marqise Lee and HaSean Clinton-Dix will be a featured matchup against Rome, who'll decide between Georgia, Alabama, Florida State, Clemson and Tennessee, among others.
5. Brandon Willimas, RB, Brookshire, (TX)
6 of 10
Williams is a taller back with game-breaking ability. It'll be a treat to watch Williams on Wednesday night. He has every-down home-run potential, as he has very good speed, vision and elusiveness.
Headed to Oklahoma, Williams should be scoring touchdowns for many years to come.
4. Jeff Driskel, QB, Hagerty (FL)
7 of 10
Driskel is a polished signal caller who has uncanny instincts in the pocket. Arm strength, pocket presence, vision and anticipation are just a few of his attributes on the field.
Committed to Florida, Driskel is poised to toss a couple touchdowns passes at the UA game.
3. Braxton Miller, QB, Wayne (OH)
8 of 10
Miller is the prototypical spread quarterback. He's a dual-threat signal caller who can make plays with his arm or his legs. Look for him to toss a touchdown pass and also run for a score at some point during the UA game.
He's also headed to Ohio State.
2. Mike Bellamy, RB, Punta Gorda (FL)
9 of 10
Bellamy has reportedly shown up to UA game practices on a business trip and is poised to make noise during the game. Bellamy is a do-it-all type back who has wiggle, agility, speed, quickness and hands to pose as a threat once he leaves the locker room.
He's bound for Clemson.
1. Isaiah Crowell, RB, Carver (GA)
10 of 10
Crowell has great breakaway speed, is very elusive, has top of the line instincts, makes lightning-fast cuts, doesn't hesitate, and can break tackles with the best of them. The fact that he's never carried the load as a featured back has raised concerns, but there shouldn't be any worries about his abilities.
Crowell will wait until National Signing Day to announce his commitment. He's expected to choose between Georgia and Alabama.
