Under Armour All American Game 2011: 10 Things To Watch

Bleacher ReportDec 27, 2010

The Under Armour All-American Game is still more than a week away but the interest level in this year's game is already at an all-time high. With a handful of the nation's top players still undecided on which school to play at next year, the interest level will be high amongst NCAA coaches and recruiters as well.

Leading up to next week's events and celebrations at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., here are the 10 things to watch for ahead of the game:

1. The Jadeveon Clowney watch: All eyes will be on the top-ranked player in the nation to see who he's talking with at the event. Clowney, a defensive end, is still deciding between South Carolina and Alabama.

2. Stephone Anthony: The top-ranked outside linebacker in the nation, according to ESPN.com and Scouts Inc. is still undeclared. How he handles the rigors of going up against the top talent in the country could help him decide. Currently, the Anson Senior High School (Wadesboro, NC) player is considering Florida, Clemson, Virginia Tech, North Carolina State and UNC.

3. Xzavier Dickson's every move: The 22nd ranked player in the country and No. 5 defensive end is also still undeclared. Still up in the air between staying home and playing at Georgia or heading to Alabama, Dickson's sure to be a focal point next week.

4. Nick Waisome fallout: After spurning a verbal commitment to play at Florida, the No. 2 cornerback in the country elected to play instead at Florida State. He'll be sure to get some questions.

5. Massachusetts tight end talent: The Bay State isn't quite known for sending top-flight offensive stars to big time college programs, yet the state has produced a handful of tight ends in recent years. Following in line is Brian Miller, the 30th ranked at the tight end position. It will be interesting to see how the Boston College commit mingles with the other top players in the country and how he compares with Blake Barker and Arthur Lynch, his predecessors.

6. Ohio State talk: After the news last week surrounding Ohio State's tampering and suspensions, the Buckeyes will sure be the talk of the week. Keep an eye on second ranked quarterback Braxton Miller, who has offered a verbal to play in Columbus next year and could be Terrelle Pryor's replacement during the QB's suspension.

7. Isaiah Crowell: The top ranked running back in the country is undeclared. He'll be sure to be perhaps the biggest storyline in Tampa next week. Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson and Florida State are reportedly on his final list.

8. Jeff Driskel: The top ranked quarterback in the country gave a verbal to Florida and is reportedly still committed to the Gators. If he goes off next week in the All-American game though, should Florida be worried?

9. Alabama All-American Game?: The Tide has seven committed recruits playing in this year's All-American Game. A handful of the nation's top players are considering Alabama as a finalist in their selection process. Will this game serve to prepare the SEC for what's to come in the near future?

10. Coaching matchup: Who would win in an Under Armour All-American game? Steve Mariucci or Mike Ditka? I guess we'll find out when the two NFL head coaches turned media members man their respective sidelines as head coaches for the game.
