
English Premier League Power Rankings Week 13
This week in the English Premier League, Chelsea suffered a second straight loss, and Spurs pulled off a historic win.
Chelsea were taken down by Birmingham, 1-0, and Spurs beat rivals Arsenal in a 3-2 thriller at the Emirates.
Manchester United won against Wigan and tied Chelsea on points at the top of the table.
The most impressive performance of the week had to come from Birmingham's Ben Foster who stopped nine Chelsea shots to give Birmingham the 1-0 upset win.
20. West Ham (19)

West Ham are bottom of the table and manager Avram Grant has been given three games to save his job.
With Hammers legend Paolo di Canio being rumored to replace Grant, if he cannot succeed in his possible final three games.
A crucial relegation battle with Wigan at Upton Park is up next for the Hammers.

Wolves' only goal in their 2-1 loss to Blackpool came on a controversial call when Kevin Doyle scored in the 86th minute when a Blackpool defender was off the pitch being treated for injury.
A difficult home matchup with Sunderland awaits on Saturday for Wolves.

Wigan were reduced to nine men in their two-goal defeat to Manchester United on the weekend.
Antolin Alcaraz and Hugo Rodallega were sent off within two minutes of each other in the second half and will not be available for the Latics' huge relegation battle on the road at West Ham on Saturday.

The Baggies are now down to 16th place in the table after their 3-0 defeat at home to Stoke.
Two penalties were given up by Roberto di Matteo's club, who look like they are in for a relegation battle instead of a battle to finish in the top 10, like they were a few weeks ago.

The Cottagers were given a thrashing at Craven Cottage on Sunday by Manchester City.
A 4-1 loss to manager Mark Hughes' former club, is exactly not what the doctor ordered for a team that lay out of the relegation zone by goal differential.
A visit from Birmingham on Saturday is next on the slate for Fulham.
15. Everton (12)

Disaster was turned into some what of a delight when Mikel Arteta scored in the 83rd minute to give the Toffees a 2-2 draw with Sunderland on Monday.
After Tim Cahill's sixth minute opener, keeper Tim Howard let in two goals and until Arteta's goal, it looked like David Moyes' club would lose another game.
Seeking a positive boost in form, the Toffees will host West Brom on Saturday at Goodison Park.
14. Aston Villa (10)

Villa took a trip to Ewood Park on Sunday and came away with a disappointing 2-0 loss.
The Villains are down to 13th in the table on 17 points and need to start gaining points soon if they do not want to be involved in the relegation battle.
A visit from Arsenal is next for Gerard Houllier's team, whose match feature former Arsenal man Robert Pires in the starting lineup.
13. Newcastle (9)

If there is one team that knows about scoring five or six goals in a game, it is Newcastle, but on Saturday they gave up five goals to Bolton.
The loss gave Chris Hughton's club their second loss in three games after their big win over Arsenal at the beginning of the month.
Top scorer Andy Carroll leads the Magpies into a game where they can play giant killer again when Chelsea visits St. James' Park on Sunday.

The fans at Bloomfield Road saw their team get their second home win on Saturday over Wolves.
Luke Varney's early third minute goal and Marlon Harewood's 44th minute strike gave the Seasiders the two goals they needed to win 2-1.
A rough six-game stretch begins Saturday at Bolton, where Blackpool face the first of six top 10 opponents in the table.
11. Blackburn (18)

Blackburn's new ownership were treated to a win over Aston Villa at Ewood Park on Sunday.
Morten Gamst Pedersen's double with strikes in the 45th and 66th minutes gave Sam Allardyce's club their third win in four matches.
Rovers look to carry their current run of form into Old Trafford on Saturday when they battle Manchester United.
10. Birmingham (16)

Lee Bowyer was the hero at St. Andrews' Stadium on Saturday, thanks to his 17th-minute goal and keeper Ben Foster's nine saves, the Blues took down Chelsea.
In what could be a huge momentum boost for the Blues, the win gave them a bump up in the standings to 15th.
A visit to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham in a relegation battle is next up on Saturday.
9. Liverpool (11)

Glen Johnson, Dirk Kuyt, and Maxi Rodriguez scored a goal each in the first half to lead Liverpool to a 3-0 win over lowly West Ham.
A huge road trip now awaits the ninth place club as they travel to White Hart Lane to face Spurs on Sunday.
8. Chelsea (6)

Two straight losses for Chelsea.
It sounds unreal, but for the first time since the 2005-06 season, Chelsea has dropped back-to-back games, this week it was a 1-0 loss to Birmingham.
Controversy is swirling around the club's management after the surprise exit of coach Ray Wilkins and the rumors that manager Carlo Ancelotti may resign because of the Wilkins situation.
The Blues will look to get back on form and not lose the top spot in the table with a visit to St. James' Park on Sunday.
7. Sunderland (5)

The Black Cats were denied their fourth home win on Monday against Everton.
Before giving up a late equalizer, Steve Bruce's club had a lead, thanks to two goals from Danny Welbeck.
Two fairly easy games are next up for the seventh place team in the table as they play both Wolves and West Ham in the next two weeks.
6. Stoke (8)

Stoke are one of the hottest teams in the Premier League right now.
With their 3-0 win over West Brom, the Potters have outscored their opponents 9-2 in their past three games, which have all been wins.
Saturday's goals were scored by Matthew Etherington and two late goals from Jonathan Walters.
A home clash with Manchester City awaits Tony Pulis' club on Saturday.
5. Arsenal (1)

What is the best way to lose a game when you are up two goals over your bitter rival?
Give up three straight goals to that bitter rival and lose a chance at first place in the EPL table.
That is exactly what Arsenal did against Tottenham on Saturday.
The Gunners are still third in the table, but they need to regain their form before they get caught by Manchester City.
4. Manchester City (7)

Carlos Tevez added two more goals to his season tally as City destroyed Fulham 4-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Sandwiched between the two Tevez goals were goals from Yaya Toure and Pablo Zabaleta.
Now three points clear of fifth place Bolton, City travel to the Brittania Stadium to face Stoke on Saturday.
3. Bolton (4)

Bolton scored the most goals on the weekend in their 5-1 win over Newcastle at home.
Two goals each from Johan Elmander and Kevin Davies plus a goal from Lee Chungyong gave Owen Coyle's men the win.
Bolton have only dropped two out of the available 12 in the month of November and will look to climb further up the table from fifth when they host Blackpool on Saturday.
2. Manchester United (3)

Patrice Evra and Javier Hernandez scored in a routine win for United at home on Saturday over nine man Wigan.
The win plus the Chelsea loss, put the Red Devils level on points with Chelsea at the top of the table.
Sir Alex Ferguson's club host Blackburn on Saturday in their next game.
1. Tottenham (2)

Tottenham took their first win over London rivals Arsenal since 1993 on Saturday.
Gareth Bale started the comeback from two behind with his 50th-minute goal.
Rafael van der Vaart's 67th-minute penalty, and Younes Kaboul's 85th-minute winner gave Spurs the monumental win.
The win put Spurs in sixth in the table and host Liverpool on Sunday at White Hart Lane.
