BCS Rankings Projections Week 13: Who Will Be 10 Biggest Losers this Week?
In a week where the top three teams in the BCS were off, did anyone look good enough to move into the top three and force TCU, Auburn or even Oregon to drop?
Also, with three games between top 25 teams, who will be dropping down in the BCS?
With many teams looking impressive, who is going to be on the outside looking in, in a couple weeks?
Check out the countdown and let us know what you agree with, or what you disagree with.
10. Miami (Fla.)
1 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 24
This Week's Rank: Unranked
Miami looked for a while like they were going to make it a game against Virginia Tech with the game tied at 17 at the end of the the third quarter. However, the Hokies spent the fourth quarter in the end zone and the Canes couldn't keep up.
The loss does drop them out of the top 25, but the real travesty was the jerseys that the Canes were wearing.
9. Mississippi State
2 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 21
This Week's Rank: 25
While an overtime loss to Arkansas stings, the good news in Starkville is that the loss doesn't knock them out of the top-25.
Also, the good news for Bulldogs fans is that they get to take on lowly Ole Miss next week.
8. Iowa
3 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 20
This Week's Rank: 23
Iowa nearly handed Ohio State its second loss of the season. Had it not been for some fourth quarter heroics by Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State would have dropped huge in the BCS rankings.
Iowa stays in the rankings due to the fact that they nearly pulled the upset. Next week, the Hawkeyes take on Minnesota, meaning they will likely win their eighth game this season.
Prior to the season, many would have seen that as a disappointment.
7. MIssouri
4 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 15
This Week's Rank: 16
Yes, Missouri won. However, it was against an Iowa State team that won't be going bowling. Throw in the facts that it was a seven-point game in the fourth quarter, and that all three teams behind the Tigers looked fantastic, and I think Missouri is going to drop a little bit.
On the bright side, the Tigers still have a chance at the Big 12 title.
6. Arkansas
5 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 13
This Week's Rank: 14
Arkansas needed overtime to beat Mississippi State, but that is not why they drop a spot here.
They drop because Oklahoma put up 53 points on a seven-win Baylor team.
5. Michigan State
6 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 12
This Week's Rank: 13
Michigan State got all it could handle from a bad Purdue team. If it weren't for a furious fourth-quarter comeback, they would have lost to a 4-7 Boilermakers team at home.
They get passed by Oklahoma because that's just how good the Sooners' performance was today.
4. Ohio State
7 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 9
This Week's Rank: 9
The Buckeyes are on this list not because they drop, but because they get passed after a so-so showing this week.
Oklahoma State looked much better and more deserving of moving up than the Ohio State team that needed a late touchdown to beat Iowa.
The good news is that next week with a matchup against Michigan, Ohio State could regain its swagger.
3. Nebraska
8 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 8
This Week's Rank: 11
Nebraska not only lost in a defensive struggle to Texas A&M, but Cornhuskers quarterback Taylor Martinez also got knocked out of the game.
With the loss, the Big 12 North title is still up for grabs between Nebraska and Missouri.
Stay tuned.
2. LSU
9 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 5
This Week's Rank: 6
LSU found itself in an SEC dog fight against Ole Miss. They did come out victorious, but Stanford used this week to dominate bitter rival Cal.
This argument is really splitting hairs, but this is more a celebration of Stanford than an indictment against LSU.
1. TCU
10 of 10
Last Week's Rank: 3
This Week's Rank: 4
TCU spent this week resting up. Behind them, Boise State spent the week making a case to move up.
Many circled Fresno State as a possible stumbling block for the Broncos, the Broncos answered all questions by beating up the Bulldogs 51-0.
With only four remaining undefeated teams, this convincing win for Boise, teamed with a win over Nevada (if they can tame the Pistol) could mean they are next in line if Auburn or Oregon stumble.
