2011 NFL Draft Stock Watch: Who Is Up and Who Is Down?
November is here, and with only a few weeks left in the college football regular season, we take an in-depth look at which players are rising up draft boards and which are falling.
UP: Cam Newton, Quarterback, Auburn
1 of 10
Newton has a chance to bring the Heisman Trophy and a National Championship to Auburn this season, but his stock as an NFL quarterback has been questioned. Recent film study has us liking Newton more and more each week.
UP: Allen Bailey, Defensive End, Miami (FL)
2 of 10
While other defensive end/tackle hybrid players are falling, Bailey's solid play has him skyrocketing up our November rankings. The top 10 is looking more and more likely for this Hurricane.
UP: Mike Hartline, Quarterback, Kentucky
3 of 10
The senior quarterback class hasn't represented very well this season, and while Hartline won't be the first passer off the board, his skills have been very impressive. He is a name to remember.
UP: Janoris Jenkins, Cornerback, Florida
4 of 10
Jenkins has been a ray of light for the Gators despite a down year for the program. His athletic ability, smooth cover skills and ball-hawking ability has scouts interested.
UP: Gabe Carimi, Offensive Tackle, Wisconsin
5 of 10
Carimi has been impressive in big games against Adrian Clayborn and Cameron Heyward. This week he faces up Ryan Kerrigan of Purdue, another top defensive end. No other tackle in recent memory has had a stretch of games like this.
DOWN: Cameron Heyward, Defensive End, Ohio State
6 of 10
A poor game against future NFL right tackle Gabe Carimi of Wisconsin has us re-evaluating Heyward. His lack of burst and unimpressive pass rushing skills have us removing Heyward from our top 10.
DOWN: Greg Jones, Inside Linebacker, Michigan State
7 of 10
NFL scouts biggest worry with Jones is not his motor, toughness or instincts; it is his lack of size. In games against Northwestern this year Jones has been invisible and many fear his lack of size is causing trouble getting through traffic to make plays.
DOWN: Jonathan Baldwin, Wide Receiver, Pittsburgh
8 of 10
The Pitt offense as a whole has suffered this season, but no one more than Baldwin. The electric receiver was seen as the second coming of Larry Fitzgerald, but he has yet to show the ability to take over a game.
DOWN: Marvin Austin, Defensive Tackle, North Carolina
9 of 10
While Austin was at one point our No. 1 overall player, losing his entire senior season after accepting cash and gifts from an agent has caused his stock to crash. Austin will be a scratch on some draft boards for character concerns alone.
DOWN: Prince Amukamara, Cornerback, Nebraska
10 of 10
Beaten routinely by Oklahoma State's redshirt sophomore receiver Justin Blackmon in their Big 12 matchup, Akumamara has looked sluggish at times this year. His inability to turn and run, and stiffness in his hips, are raising concerns about a once sure-fire prospect.
