College Football: Friday Facts and Oregon Ducks Game Predictions
Tomorrow afternoon, the Ducks and Huskies will be kicking off and adding another chapter to this rivalry. Unfortunately for Washington, this will be a chapter they are more then willing to skip over.
Entering the game, Washington will be without senior quarterback Jake Locker and stand little to no chance against the high powered Oregon Ducks offense.
Write it in stone, take it to the bank, do whatever you want, this is what you can count on seeing Saturday afternoon.
Jeff Maehl Touchdown Streak Continues
1 of 7
For the past six weeks, Jeff Maehl has been a favorite target of Darron Thomas and has caught a touchdown in six straight games. Maehl has continued to find ways to get open and make big plays.
He truly broke out for a huge game this past week against USC, catching eight passes for 14 yards and three touchdowns. Maehl's touchdown streak will extend to seven games this week and do not be surprised to see him haul in two scores.
Darron Thomas Throws Zero Interceptions
2 of 7
Since going on the road to play Tennessee, Darron Thomas has been razor sharp and has improved every week. Thomas has this Oregon offense playing at an elite level and he has been at the center of it.
This week against Washington, Thomas will not be leaned on to make a lot of plays but you could see him have a performance much like he did against UCLA. Look for Thomas to be responsible with the ball and have no turnovers.
Keith Price Has Two or More Turnovers
3 of 7
So imagine you are making your first start, taking over for a senior quarterback who has preseason heisman hopes, you are taking on the number one team in the nation, and you get to do all of this on the road in arguably the loudest stadium in the nation. While most of us can only imagine this, Keith Price gets to live it.
This Saturday, Price will be under center for the Huskies but making your first start at Autzen is not a good spot to be in. It will take Price a while to settle in and the noise and Oregon defense should make things hard on him.
Kenjon Barner Receives The Loudest Ovation Of The Day
4 of 7
This week, Kenjon Barner has been cleared for full contact and has been practicing with the team. Based on the fact that Oregon should win this game easily, I don't expect Barner to see much time on the field but when he does get out there, the crowd will be on their feet.
Oregon Drops 50 on The Huskies
5 of 7
If you enjoyed what you saw when Oregon played UCLA, you will want to tune in and watch this game. When you look at these two teams, there are mismatches up and down the field. Not only are the matchups not in Washington's favor but Oregon's pace will wear them down before half time.
Oregon should be able to march up and down the field and as long as they don't beat themselves with penalties and turnovers, this game will be over by halftime.
LaMichael James Is Held Under 200 Yards
6 of 7
LaMichael James will run into a problem this week in trying to rack up big yardage and that problem will be the scoreboard. If Oregon starts to push the lead out to 30-40 points, Chip Kelly will look to rest his starters like he has all year.
If James wants to put up big yards, he will need to break some big runs. I think James will put up around 130 yards and a couple scores but will be taken out due to the score.
Oregon Holds Washington To Ten Points or Less
7 of 7
Unless Keith Price comes in and plays out of his mind, the scoreboard will be lighting up on only one side. The Oregon defense will be flying around and bringing a different blitz almost every play.
The only way I see Washington getting into the endzone is if Oregon turns the ball over deep in their territory like they have done before.
