Alabama, Oregon Hit the Road, Buckeyes Seeking Momentum: Week 6 Predictions
Week 6 is loaded with drama.
Alabama and Oregon both hit the road again. OSU is looking to regain its September form against Indiana.
Two fallen heavyweights collide in Gainesville, two former superpowers meet in Miami, and big brother plays little brother in the Big House.
Here are some predictions for the games.
Top Three
Alabama at South Carolina
This is the first of several games where the Tide will be facing a team that has had two weeks to prepare for them. Will it help the Gamecocks? Yes. Will they win? No. Mark Ingram punished SC last year, and he’ll have another great game on Saturday. Tide win 28-17.
Indiana at Ohio State
The Buckeyes had a bit of a scare last week against the Fighting Illini, pulling out the late victory on the road. The Hoosiers lost a heartbreaker against Michigan last week, and they might have a bit of a hangover against OSU. The Buckeyes regain their focus and stomp Indiana. OSU 35-14.
Oregon at Washington State
This game will be over after the first quarter. Ducks pound the Cougars 65-7.
Other Notable Games
LSU at Florida
These two schools have won three out of the last four national championships. Neither looked the part last week. How will the Gators respond after suffering one of their worst losses under Urban Meyer? Will LSU show better concentration after being ridiculed all week about their inept offensive execution? Both will play better, but the edge goes to Florida playing at home. Gators win 20-14.
Florida State at Miami
As odd as it sounds, this is the first time since 2006 that both teams enter this game ranked. The Hurricanes have rebounded after the loss against OSU, beating Pitt and Clemson on the road. The Seminoles have won three straight after their nightmarish loss to Oklahoma. Expect some fireworks. Miami wins another close one, 31-27.
Michigan State at Michigan
This might be the game of the day. The Wolverines offense is rolling with Denard Robinson leading the charge, but they have not played against a defense worth mentioning. The defense is still terrible, giving up 433 yards and 25 points per game. The Spartans are a surprise team so far and would love to win their third straight over Big Brother. The team with the ball last will likely win the game. Michigan 38-35.
No upsets this week.
