Georgia Football: Five UGA Bulldogs Mississippi State Won’t Be Able To Stop
This is a kick-start game for both teams. It is more so for Georgia because they haven’t been playing up to par lately (and they had chances to win both the games they lost).
With that said, I believe there will be a few Georgia Bulldogs that will go off this weekend in Stark-Vegas.
The Dawgs from Athens are hungry for a win and will lay it all out come Saturday. Here are five Georgia Bulldogs that MSU will not be able to stop.
1. Aaron Murray
1 of 5
Murray is the leader of this team. He made that clear last week when he brought Georgia back into the game after being down two touchdowns. He would like some help from his supporting cast (run game, O-line, defense, anybody!).
Murray will utilize this game to show Georgia fans why he is the real deal. He’ll get it done through the air as well as with a few plays on his feet—most likely from a broken play that is either MIke Bobo’s fault or the offensive line's.
Here comes another 250-yard passing game with 30-50 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. Good day for QB 1, as the Bulldogs from Starkville won’t be able to handle the redshirt freshman.
2. Kris Durham
2 of 5
Durham has been Murray’s go-to guy all season long, and it’s not going to change. A.J. Green is still out for this game, leaving Durham to step up—like he has—and make huge catches once again.
Durham leads the team with 13 receptions and 260 yards. He missed all of 2009, but in 2008 he recorded 13 catches for 199 yards. Clearly he is making the most of his last season as a Bulldog.
Durham has been the Bulldogs' best deep ball threat; his 6'5" frame certainly helps. Coming off a career week against Arkansas—five catches for 101 yards—Durham will produce for the Dawgs once again and lead the team in receiving.
3. Caleb King
3 of 5
King missed the last two weeks with an ankle injury. Yes, he is injury prone, but it’s happening early this year. Expect King to be full force for the rest of the season.
Georgia finally has its dynamic duo in the backfield and although they will probably ease King into the game, look for him to bust a big one. The tandem of King and Washaun Ealey will be nasty in this game, and both will easily rush for over 50 yards and have a touchdown apiece.
4. Orson Charles
4 of 5
The tight ends have been absent so far this season. Mark Richt stated they’ve been calling plays for Orson and Aron White, but things just haven’t panned out. That will change this weekend.
White is primarily used for blocking, while Orson is the receiving guy.
Even though Orson accumulated no stats this past weekend, Saturday night Georgia fans will finally see the Tampa boys connect—not only once but quite a few times. The plays called at the goal line have been awful so far this season, and I believe Bobo will utilize the tight end this weekend.
Whether or not it comes on a big play or from the goal line remains to be seen, but Orson Charles will score his first touchdown this season.
5. Justin Houston
5 of 5
Houston is a beast on the Bulldogs defense and will be gunning for whichever quarterback Mississippi State tosses in there.
He’s had a little trouble learning the coverage schemes thrown his way by Todd Grantham, but this week he bounces back and leads the defense to a solid showing.
I say three sacks, seven total tackles, and a forced fumble by the junior from Statesboro.
