Unneeded Coaching Conflict For The Bulldog Nation

The season has not been off to the start UGA fans for hoping for. I will admit that a lot of our expectations (including mine) were a little inflated and unrealistic. That is what makes UGA fans great. We expect championships. No, we demand them. These past 2-3 years have been disappointments but they have had their bright spots. The problem with all of this is that Coach Richt gets to praise and pundits and the same time. I am here to say it is not all his fault.

Coach Martinez:

            Martinez was a great disappointment to the UGA nation. The toughness and hard nosed defense we were used to pretty much went away. We gave up way to many big plays. Other teams did not respect our D like they used to. As much as I hate this word, we had no “swagger.” Coach Richt’s first mistake was that he got his personal life and professional life mixed together and kept him around for a couple of years too long.

Coach Bobo:

            What could be the second coming of Martinez. Bobo has probably been here longer than he has needed to be. For a few years now fans have been questioning his play calling and I am one of those fans. He has become well, predictable. There is no risk involved hardly in his offensive scheme and that is what you need with the caliber defense that the dawgs face in the SEC. Coach Richt and Bobo don’t seem to be seeing eye to eye on the offense this year and I believe that is hurting the team. Richt is also aware that his job may be on the line as well this year (Which I don’t agree with). If he is smart, Richt will start a new chapter in the OC position in the offseason. A new face to offense may also bring some of that explosive offense we were used to Richt’s first couple of years. Richt is an offensive genius himself. If he could just find one to manage Georgia’s offense it will work.

            All in all I believe UGA will make it through this season with some reasonable confidence in the offense and defense at the end of the year. I also believe that if Coach Richt wants some heat taken off of him he needs to get rid of Bobo at the end of the year.
