Clemson Tigers Vs. Auburn Tigers: Live Blog, Stats, Analysis

What a game this was. Cardiac cats is a fitting nickname for BOTH Tiger squads.

This one had all the makings of an instant classic.

Clemson came out clicking on all cylinders, out playing and basically beating up on Auburn for a 17-3 halftime lead.

The second half was a COMPLETELY different story.

Auburn came out focused and aggressive while Clemson, well, didn't.

Things likely took the biggest down turn for Clemson when QB Kyle Parker, who was having a sensational night to that point, took a helmet to the back and was lucky to even have the ability play the rest of the game.

He stayed in and after a clutch defensive stop, Clemson drove down and scored to tie the game at 24-24.

Clemson won the toss in overtime, electing to force Auburn on offense first. QB Cam Newton led his Tigers down to field goal range, where they took a 27-24 lead.

Then came the heart breaker. Inside the Auburn 10, Parker rolled out and missed a wide open receiver for the game winning catch. They subsequently had to settle for a field goal to tie, but an illegal snap penalty for a re-kick, which was missed, giving Auburn the win.

Despite the loss, we did find out Clemson might be the cream of the crop in the ACC along with Miami.

The Tigers of the ACC face a tough task, trying to win on the road in an always tough Jordan Hare Stadium. The last few meetings have been close, and this one looks to be the same. Auburn is trying to rise back to national prominence. Clemson is trying to prove it's legit without CJ Spiller. All the makings for a great game.
