Shannon Sharpe: Charges Against the Former Bronco Have Been Dropped

A quick update: as reported by the Denver Post, the charges against former Denver Broncos standout Shannon Sharpe have been dismissed.

The speculation around this information is that Sharpe was a target in this situation.  His accuser, Michele Bundy, had apparently been living in Denver metro until late June with a family in the Roxborough subdivision.  However, the family that she stayed with believes that she was targeting Shannon Sharpe and that she was not entirely credible.

Once the family came forward, it's likely that local law enforcement turned up the heat on Bundy to come clean with her story.  

While the specifics are not known at this moment, the end result is that Shannon Sharpe has been cleared thus far of any wrongdoing.  Sharpe's employer, CBS, was expected to release a statement sometime later today.
