Ja'Marr Chase Injured, Latest on Bengals WR's Status and Timeline to Return from Concussion

The Cincinnati Bengals will be without one of their top playmakers for the second half of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Cincinnati announced wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was ruled out for the remainder of the contest after suffering a concussion. He went to the locker room after he was hit hard on a play where a defender also grabbed his facemask.

Chase later took to social media to express support for his team:

Chase was off to a solid start with three catches for 27 yards on three targets prior to the setback.

He is one of the best players in the entire league, so even a talented offense with other playmakers like Cincinnati's will struggle to replicate his production. The LSU product led the NFL in catches (127), receiving yards (1,708) and touchdown catches (17) during the 2024 campaign.

It was more of the same last season as an All-Pro First-Team selection with 125 catches for 1,412 yards and eight touchdowns.

Fortunately for the Bengals, they have another star receiver in Tee Higgins who can be Joe Burrow's go-to option while Chase is sidelined. Dohnte Meyers also figures to see more targets, while tight end Mike Gesicki is a reliable option.

In fact, Gesicki scored a touchdown in the third quarter of Sunday's contest when Chase was not on the field.

While those playmakers can help keep the offense afloat with Burrow running the show, the Bengals still need Chase back and healthy if they are going to reach their full potential and compete for a deep playoff run in the AFC.
