When Miami has the ball: Look for the Canes' offense to change a bit this year. They want to remain explosive in the passing game with plenty of shots down field, but they have an incredible stable of running backs; as many as five backs could see action tonight, beginning with Damien Berry.
Look for offensive coordinator Mark Whipple to get the running game going early to set up big strikes down the field through the air. Miami quarterback Jacory Harris is going to put up gaudy numbers with his big, talented wideouts owning the matchups on the outside.
When FAMU has the ball: The Miami defense is big and explosive up front. FAMU’s best hope is to run counters, screens, and draws to attack Miami’s aggressive pursuit. As long as the Canes defense plays smart, it is going to have plenty of opportunities to force turnovers. It’s going to be a long day for the Rattlers offense led by quarterback Martin Ukpai.
Who on FAMU's offensive line is going to block Allen Bailey?
Answer: Nobody.
Who has the edge?
Backfield – UM
Offensive Line – UM
Receivers/Tight Ends – UM
Defensive Line - UM
Linebackers - UM
Secondary – UM
Special Teams -UM
Band – FAMU
Prediction
Miami dominates the opener 45-10. Although the focus is on next week’s mega matchup with Ohio State, the Canes are too deep and talented to let A&M deliver the shocking upset.
