Superliga 2010: Morelia Vs. Pumas Ends in 2-2 Draw
The Monarcas of Morelia faced the Pumas [UNAM] at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois.
They were competing for the Group B with the Monarcas fresh from their victory over the Chicago Fire, and the Pumas recuperating from their loss to the New England Revolution.
Morelia needed a victory to secure its place in the semifinals since New England is already assured of its place.

The Pumas needed a win to maintain its hopes in the Superliga after its humiliating defeat to New England.
The game started with Morelia on the offensive with their possession of the ball and game.
Luis Gabriel Rey scored the first goal for Morelia with a kick to the center of the goal past the hands of the Pumas' goalie.
Morelia started to lose possession of the game after the first goal with Pumas recovering from its initial shock.
Unfortunately, the counter-offensive was too weak and Morelia still had some tricks left in an attempt to remain in the lead.
Hugh Droguett was able to take advantage of an opening in the goal to score a second goal for Morelia at 53 minutes.
He scored later in the match with another kick towards the center of the goal.
The Pumas [UNAM] had to do something to equalize or win to maintain its possibility of being viable in the Superliga.
The hopes of the Pumas were revived with a far kick by Leandro Augusto towards the left side of the goal to score the team's first point in 68 minutes.
The team was ecstatic and soon Morelia was on the defensive with both teams attempting to score or to maintain their position.
Javier Cortes was able to score the equalizer by a right kick which stunned the goalie for Morelia at 85 minutes.
The game between Morelia and Pumas was one of the most exciting in this championship, almost competing with the opening game between Morelia and the Chicago Fire.
The only exception were the last five minutes when both teams played if only to waste the remaining time and finish.
Morelia and Pumas now have to rethink their plans for advancing in the Superliga 2010.
